SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY. FEB. 2)

Good morning, shopping friends. I am snowed out of work but the students are still engaged in learning via their laptops and virtual learning. Good-bye to snow days. Since this was a sub job, I got to stay home but without pay.

I am looking at Denim & Co. I really liked that linen jacket but had to say "no" to it as I have too many jackets, most of which are D&C or Dennis Basso.

I guess I will use the time at home to go through some things in the kitchen. I really don't live in the kitchen so I am sure there are things still in good condition that can find a new home. Tomorrow is trash day, so today is a great opportunity to find few things not worthy of donation. The reality is that most "finds" will be going to donation.

I received an email that many items in Quacker Factory are on clearance. I am sure my size is gone but if I don't check it out and won't be tempted to buy. My focus is changing toward buying new furniture and a mattress. The new lifestyle doesn't need more clothing right now to go unused.

Have a great day. If  you shop, shop wisely. If you venture out, do so safely.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY. FEB. 2)

Good Morning and thanks for getting us started, Jean.  I wondered if school would be in session there.  Seems like kids won't have the "snow day" break if they are doing remote learning.  Sorry it means no pay for you.

Good luck in your deculttering/sorting.  Today was trash day here, and I tried to gather as much as I could before they came.  We are also supposed to have a charity pick-up, so I have a couple of bags out for them.  Since the stood me up one time, I have not put out as many bags as I once did.  And, most of the thrift stores are closed here due to the virus.  I am getting used to having a pile of donations sitting in the corner of the Arizona room.

i wonder if they are phasing out QF.  I think (not sure) they have done the same with Bob Mackie, and they already dropped several others.  Like you, I am trying to avoid temptation as much as possible, particularly for clothes and shoes.  What type of furniture are you considering?  My focus has shifted more to home items like lamps these days.

It is cloudy here, but they are predicting highs in the 70's. We had a beautiful sunrise this morning.

I participated in a Zoom meeting of ladies from my church this morning, and it was very nice.  My plans for the day include doing a Leslie Sansone DVD and going for a Wal Mart grocery pick-up in the afternoon.  I find that adding toiletries, supplements, and OTC medication makes it easy to reach the minimum purchase.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone is having a nice day and staying safe and warm.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY. FEB. 2)

Hi Everyone!

We have snow and lots of it!! so far we have managed to shovel, snow blow once a day and have a path. They are predicting a snow free day tomorrow and then the return of snow. Cold temps but a little sun today. We are enjoying it while it lasts. The twonship plowed the road this am and the garbage truck made an appearance.

This morning I am running the cleaners thru the dishwasher and disposal. I sure can have some fun. I have bills to pay today and maybe I'll start to organize the tax paperwork. I watched some Q beauty this morning and the repeat Temptations program while I drank coffee and the fed the dogs. I have to say tthat I do like the taupe and grey colors in the Temptations line but I don't need any more of it. I found with the new range and cookware I can actually do more on top of the stove. I think I will donate my crockpot and Cusinart grill. I'll keep the pressure cooker. I'm a slow learner on that device but it looks like it has potential. LOL

I missed the D&C program but will probably catch the repeat. I always see something that catches my eye but I don't need anything. I have a water heater that is next on the list of purchases. The list is long for this year because we had leftovers from 2020. UGH!!!

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY. FEB. 2)

Linda--I would much rather have your weather. Yes, the remote learning has put an end to snow days, etc. If there is a positive thing about the Covid virus is the money that became available to purchase every student a laptop so virtual and remote learning would be possible.  I think it is becoming easier for me to ignore fashions on the Q when some of the brands I like disappear. Remember Dialogue? That was a classy line great for work.  What am I considering for the house? A couple of recliners, a new mattress, and a new oven...but it can be held off as I have a countertop convection oven that works well, plus my George Foreman and microwave.

Fressa--You mentioned your water heater. I spent part of the morning, going through some things plus refiling some items. I ran across a receipt for the installation of my current water heater. It was installed in 2004 so I'll likely be adding a new one to my list soon. These aren't as glamourous as fashions but are a necessity which are not inexpensive.

I spent the afternoon doing my taxes. I don't have multiple income streams, property, etc. so it is easy for me to do my taxes, especially when I used to do taxes several years ago for a tax firm. It amazed me at the simple taxes that people couldn't trust themselves to do but now nearly all the tax prep software easily takes people through the average person's tax prep.

The latest statistics from my state shows that the virus infection rate is lowering, and the vaccinations continue to go well. I am scheduled to get my second vaccination this Friday. Hopefully, the weather permits it.
