SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21)

Good Afternoon!  I am copying Bernie's post added to yesterday's thread.

Hello all, I was busy with yardwork yesterday.  We had three nice days of mostly sunny, breezy weather in the low to mid 70's so I thought it would be best to mow the grass aka really just vacuum up the leaves in the yard.  The grass didn't grow that much since I cut it last but since I'm having the mechanical and electrical inspectors over next Thursday to make sure all is well with the new furnace A/C install I didn't want to risk the yard looking raggedy.

I went grocery shopping today and noticed two things of particular interest to me.  Nary one box of Hungry Jack pancake mix and barely any instant coffee.  For a minute there I thought Meijers stopped carrying instant.  They had ground, pods for Keurigs and those international coffees.  I was looking for run of the mill Maxwell House instant and almost gave up when I saw 3 plastic jars.  No other brands of instant and I only bought one jar.  I didn't want to be greedy since it's in such short supply.

If my phone is to be believed it's 64 degrees outside.  That must be before the windchill because it's kind of gusty windy out there Woman Happy

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

---------------------

Glad you got your yardwork done, and were able to get the instant coffee you wanted, Bernie.  I have found that some items that are not in one store are in good supply at another.  Not good to have to run from store to store just looking, but that was the case with some apple juice I wanted -- Walmart had zero (I was looking for a six pack of small bottles), but it was on sale and in good supply at Safeway this morning.

Sounds like chilly weather there.  It was cool this morning when I took my walk, but they are predicting a high of 89 degrees today.

My mammogram went okay yesterday -- quickly at least. Now to wait for the results.  I am waiting to hear the hospice supplies are ready for delivery.  If it is late in the day, I have decided to come home in the middle and deliver the rest tomorrow.  I sure don't enjoy driving when it is turning dark or dark.

Just for those of you who have not heard, Jean has COVID.  She found out when she was in for pre-testing for her surgery.  She is to have the monoclonal antibody treatment, which I hope helps her.  Needless to say, her surgery will need to be postponed.

I will probably do an exercise DVD now.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.  Please post if you have a chance.

Hugs,

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21)

Good evening ladies, hope all is well.

Bernie - We cut our grass yesterday also, it is supposed to rain for the next couple days and the yard was looking ragged.  I hope your appointment went well.  The shelves are getting sparse in all the stores, guess it is something we need to get used to.  Around our area, the restaraunts are hurting for help.  I do feel sorry for all who is working with the public, some people can be rude and not be understanding.  I try to keep in mind, if they don't have what I have - Oh well, find something else.

Linda - Hope your mammogram goes well.  Like you, I find myself avoiding driving at night, I used to do it all the time.  I know I am out of practice driving at night.  Sorry to hear Jean has Covid, hopefully she is over it quickly.

Not much happening here, we are under a tornado watch right now so keeping an eye on my phone alerts.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

I'm late getting to the thread and am so sorry to read that Jean has covid.  My prayers are with Jean for a full and speedy recovery.
