Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (THURSDAY, JULY 7)

@LindaLatte

I'm sorry that your DH's days and nights are confused.  My sister who was discharged from the rehab is going through the same thing.  The entire situation with my sister is stressful and while the diagnosis is different than your DH, I can relate to the stress you are going through.

It's hot and humid here too.  It's very hard to sort through a parents things.  I'm glad you found movies/slides - they will bring comfort I'm sure.

@cerb

I'm glad the goats can help with the weeds.  When I had more rabbits in the yard, I had less dandelions, although I must say they haven't been too bad this year.

It's one of the reasons I don't use Weed B Gone or anything, never know if some kind rabbit or groundhog wants to help me with the weeds :-o

Barbara, I wrote another thread (think it was in Community Chat or Among Friends) that women are programmed at a genetic level to 'do'.  Women persevere, overcome and work through it.

Glad Sydnie had fun at the competition.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (THURSDAY, JULY 7)

Hi girls! Checking in quick - I have a 3,000 word paper that has to be done by tomorrow but I want to finish it today, then I have a small assignment that I missed because of the situation with Honeybun which I'll do today or tomorrow, then that's IT until August 29!  Cat LOL  I discontinued the automatic enrollment as I'd rather choose my own classes and start dates, so hopefully the next two will be more interesting; after them I'm taking a semester off.

It is hot out - I'm going to take an hour's break at some point to enjoy the pool.  Yesterday we had a brief thunderstorm - it got me out of the pool - but it didn't last long.

LindaL, sorry you had a bad night again; I don't know how you do it! I'm praying for you.

Jean, I have yet to get my own new printer set up...hopefully this weekend. I need to make copies of the stickers on my vacuum cleaner as the nice young man from Eureka suggested before I send them back, and I need to print labels to send a textbook and defective pool float back to Amazon; I really don't want to have to go to the library. They don't charge me since I donate books and bring all sorts of goodies to the staff, but it'll be nice to be able to do those things at home.

I'm always tempted by storage cubes, shelves, etc. - I have to remind myself that I don't need any more!  My new grill combo (grill, omelete, sandwich maker, waffle maker) arrived; I'm debating if I should keep the old George Foreman or not. The grill plates are shot, but I never used the waffle or flat surface plate. It's not in good enough shape to donate, but maybe I should put it in the garage in case...I dunno!  Cat Frustrated

Meallen, I thought of you when I went to Walmart, and the cashier's name was Allen. I never knew a woman who had that name before...not that it's your own.  Cat Happy

Karen, one thing I don't miss about living in NYC is the heat! As hot as it gets, it's only worse when it reflects back from all the concrete.  I remember so many places - especially on Madison Ave. - shutting down for the entire month of August.

Charlene, I never heard anyone use that elephant phrase except my BFF - she uses it often! Cat LOL

Hope the new diet continues to go well, twinny.

I fed the outside kitties earlier and am happy to see that Sam comes back regularly, but I can't get near him or her. Today they got lamb cat food which the indoor cats love, but Sam and Moonshine - both ferals - had the nerve to turn their cute little noses up at it!  They don't know when they have it good. Cat Frustrated I tell them there are plenty of humans who would love to have that food, but do they care? Nah...

Well, I guess I'd better get to work - after I check the Amazon box that came.  Not that I'm procrastinating or anything...  Cat Wink

Hi to everyone - have a blessed day!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (THURSDAY, JULY 7)

Hi everyone, late checking in, our power has been out since shortly before 7am, not sure if it was due to the tornado not far away or not. We have no damage other than small to medium branches and limbs down all over the yard. Glad it was not much worse as it could have been. I have been working on the cleanup all day but have only made a dent in it, so far. Will do more tomorrow, but for now I am beat. Hope all are doing well. Waves for now.....

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (THURSDAY, JULY 7)

@Bird mama, thanks. We have power now but it was off the entire day. I will have a few more days of picking up the mess. Just because all the bending hurts my back so much that I have to take frequent breaks. Took me a good hour or more just to fish all the debris out of the pool, lol. They are saying another storm will be hitting us about 10pm tonight, hoping it's not quite so severe.
