SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (THURSDAY, DEC. 7)

Good morning, shopping friends. Today is a beautful but cold day. Some snow is expected for the weekend/ Am I excited? No!!

Obviously, Iam not working today. I have a whopper of a sinus attaclk and headache. Hopefully, it will disappear soon without me taking a med. I take enough already.

I am also a little sleepy but I think that is a result of the meds the doctor put me on yesterday for the middle ear infection. Of course, i could blame Midnight for part of it but my Fitbit Alta HR said I got more sleep than usual but not as deep.

Sir Midnight is one persistent cat. He awakened me at 1am and wouldn't give up. I decided to go to the bathroom at which time I discovered a box on the floor that had been put up. Said opened box was full of Temptation treats packages that had been part of my Amazon Subscribe and Save delivery. I guess Midnight had been trying to get into the box without success so he was wanting his treats even if it meant getting Mom up.

I am watching SG right now. I liked her turtleneck TSV so well that when it was presented again this morning, Midnight ordered it for me in black for Christmas. At this point, that poor cat is being blamed for everything.

There is nothing like the holidays and not feeling well for me to fall victim to increased shopping urges. This is a pattern from year to year. Obviously, I don't need more clothes, handbags or shoes.

I have the TSV bought back when tan or beige was the standard color included in each set. They are warm.

Hi Jean - thanks for getting us started. Midnight is a naughty kitty! But we love him, lol. I think it's very nice of you to remember the vet's office. I know that my DD always appreciates kindness from their clients. Sorry to hear that your sinuses are bothering you. Hope the issues clear up soon and you're back to feeling well. Linda - life certainly is full of ups and downs for you and your DH right now. Keeping you and your DH in my thoughts and prayers.

Last night some big winds kicked in. I don't know if they're classifying these as Santa Ana winds or not. Usually they strike in Sept. and Oct. This is pretty late in the year, but they were howling. In addition - we had 2 small earthquakes last night. Geesh!

The cookies I baked yesterday turned out well, and I need to go plate them and leave for the cookie exchange. Hoping you all have a great day! ~ Charlene

Hello Ladies.....sunny but chilly day here....I had another weather alert saying measurable snow for this weekend...if I had a dollar for every alert they send out and it happened I'd be a rich person. , They send the alert then the next day it's another "This will miss us "alert. oh well I am happy it is missing us. Those videos of the fires out in Calif are terrible.....that's why I don't complain about blizzards,hurricanes....I'll take them any day. MY DH has a cousin out in the LA area who so far is doing ok.

Happy Birthday to Linda, hope you are having a nice day and your DH is doing better.

I have been busy with decorating and Christmas shopping (all on line). IT is crazy to me now fast everything is coming up.... We still haven't gotten our tree yet.

Charlene--It is great that the cookies turned out well for the cookie exchange. I enjoy giving to the vet staff as they are so much like family. I have been dealing with this practice since the year 2000.

Marijane--Our forecasts are pretty accurate but regardless I think we both share our "love" of Winter. I also did my shopping online. It is so much easier than fighting the traffic and crowds.

Today is Linda's birthday. I do hope that she had a blessed day and that DH was more alert today.

Good Evening! Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I spent most of the day with my caregivers group -- lunch, meeting, and coffee. All was good. The caregivers sang Happy Birthday to me, which was nice. Earlier, I asked Alexa to sing it to me, and "she" did so. Can't say I cared for her voice, but.....

DH was doing pretty well today, and at one point he said "talk". So, I chattered away as much as I could. They had Christmas music on, and I sang along. He managed to sing "Jingle Bells" (not the whole song, but just that part), a couple of times, which pleased me.

It was very chilly here today compared to the temperatures we have had. The highs was only in the 50's, and we may hit freezing tonight. I started out on my walk, but turned back after a short bit due to the cold wind. I know that I've turned into a total weather wimp.

Hope you feel better, Jean, and you don't get bad weather, Marijane. Glad your cookies turned out well, Charlene. Nice graphic, meallen. I wish I could blame Midnight, but I ordered those turtlenecks in another color as well, Jean. (I ordered the red this time.)
