Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Sunday, June 22nd)

We only made it to 95, Bernie.  And, our humidity was very low (less than 20%).  Sure hope your weather is better tomorrow.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Sunday, June 22nd)

Hi Everyone!

Another hot, humid day like many of you. The forecast has strong storms moving in our area in the evening with somewhat "normal" summer temps to follow. I never thought the 80-s temp range would seem "cool" to me. LOL  I'm crossing my fingers that I will be able to be outside tomorrow to finish weeding and replacing solar lights.

We received those motion, securitty light bulbs that the Q had as a TSV.  We're trying a few different locations to see what is going to be the best spot for night viewing. They are a bit larger in person than they appeared on the screen but still fit in the socket. We should be avle to see more of the wildlife at night which was the reason for the purchase.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Sunday, June 22nd)

Hope it turns cooler as predicted, Fressa.  They are predicting a high of 100 degrees here, but still low humidity (22% at the moment).  It wasn't too hot on my walk early this morning.  Those light bulbs sound interesting.

DD said that this is the last "excessive heat warning" day in her area.  They may have thunderstorms tonight.  She has decided to postpone her errands until tomorrow.

Yesterday, I had a call from DH's older DGD thanking me for the graduation card and check I sent to her.  I was somewhat surprised to learn that neither she or any of her friends (fellow college grads) were able to find jobs despite majoring in scientific/technical areas in a well respected university.  Many had been offered jobs, but then the offers were rescinded by the companies.

I was even more surprised that she has decided to move to Turkey for a while despite not knowing the language.  Fingers crossed things work out for her.  Very nice, intelligent young woman -- much more adventurous than me for sure.

I have nothing exciting planned for me today.

Waves to Fressa, Bernie (glad you got your power back on), Barbara (how are you feeling?), Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Sunday, June 22nd)

Good Evening!  Hope that it is not as hot and humid where all of you live as it was yesterday.  It made it to 99 degrees here today -- still dry.  They  have issued an excessive heat warning for Monday with a high of 105 degrees,  There is hope for rain later next week.

I did my grocery shopping yesterday -- a few bargains, but not a lot.  There was a big sale on eggs at the grocery store, but they didn't have any.  I will check tomorrow when I go for my pneumonia vaccine at the grocery store pharmacy.

The Sheriff's Auxiliary was pretty quiet this afternoon, but we had several people coming for fingerprinting.  Some had problems due to arthritis and age-related problems with the ridges.  But, everyone did get their fingerprints done.  One of the people was a nurse who works at the hospice where I used to work.  We had a nice chat.

DD told me that my SIL's boss was suddenly fired (he had no clue that his boss would be fired), and now he is quite concerned that he will be let go as well.  It is always something.

Hope everyone sleeps/slept well.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Sunday, June 22nd)

Hello all, storms came through Tuesday afternoon and I ended up losing power for almost 5 hours.  I could hear the transformers to the NE of me surging immediately following the storm and it took 2 hours to cascade my way, lol.  It cooled off a few degrees for the next couple of days and I ran outside yesterday, mowed and trimmed the forsythia in the backyard and trimmed the silver maple where it drapes over the pedestrian sidewalk.  I never want it said that the tree in my front yard is a problem for anyone.

It's swampy (hot and humid) out there today and storms are forecasted for later this afternoon/evening.

I tried to grow flowers from seed and one silver maple pod across 8 planters over 3 weeks ago.  It's been a  nonstop battled with the squirrels for 3 weeks so I emptied all of the flower planters, salvaged what I could of the potting soil and discarded the rest.  I will continue to fight for the silver maple sprout and try something different next year.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Sunday, June 22nd)

Glad your power is back on, and you were able to do some yard work before the anticipated storm, Bernie.  Hope the next storm does not cause another power outage.

Sorry about the loss of your flowers.  Good luck next year.

It is hot here, but not too bad when I took my walk this morning.  My former hospice patient was very confused this morning, but at least she was awake when I visited.

I received my KG TSV tops, and I decided to keep them.  They are thin, but not so thin as to be unwearable.  And, I do not mind the length.  As I expected, the blue color one is my favorite, but the margarita isn't bad.  I am somewhat concerned about the wrinkles, but I do not mind ironing.  Not tops I would take on a trip, but I rarely travel.

A couple of months ago, I won a Culver's gift card, and decided to use it today after I had my pneumonia vaccine.  I was really impressed with the fish (fried cod) sandwich and even the fries.  Also, the staff could not have been nicer, and one even went to get a back for me to take out my fries.

I heard a little more from my DD, and I am not quite as worried about my SIL's job.  Apparently, the head of the company called him to tell my SIL that she was firing his immediate boss (who he has worked for the entire seven years my SIL had been there), but he was not allowed to say anything to his boss.

My SIL and his immediate boss get along extremely well, so he was shaken.  But, it sounds like maybe his job is okay at least for the time being.  Fingers crossed that continues.

I think the TSV is cute and the price isn't bad, but I do not think that I would wear it often so I am not ordering.  Hope any of you who do like it very much.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Sunday, June 22nd)

Good Afternoon!  Hot day here, but it wasn't too bad on my walk this morning.  I just can't get into CIJ at this point, and I have not been watching the presentations.  Definitely don't need any more candles since I have plenty and have not been lighting them for several months.

I went swimming yesterday afternoon, and it was great.  After my Culver's lunch, I wasn't hungry for dinner, but ate a salad.  Later, I realized that i was so thirsty because like most restaurants, they use a lot of salt.  I am not used to so much salt which caused the problem.

Happy to report that I walked farther than I have for quite a while this morning.  Laundry is almost completed, and I have gathered most of the information for my weekly financial review later.

I spent quite a bit of time on hold with Q customer service this morning -- hopefully, they will straighten out things.  Early this month, I had returned the KG packabelle pants and received a notice that they had been received and I would get a credit.

Today, I was checking my "easy pay" orders, and found that they were still charging me for the order.  Then, I checked my order status and found that they had credited me for the return of some D&Co. jeans (very reduced price) that I had ordered at the same time rather than the KG pants. ( I had kept the jeans  and not used easy pay.)

I called customer service and waited and waited on hold only to talk to a representative who said his computer was updating, and I should call back.  So, I called back and waited and waited again.  The Customer Service Rep. had to do some fancy footwork (as they say) to fix the problem.  Now, I should be credited for the return (minus the S&H, of course), and billed for the item I kept.  Yikes!

Hope the weather where you live is okay.  It is supposed to be hot and windy today and tomorrow and they are still issuing an excessive heat warning for Monday.  Oh well....

Sleep well.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Sunday, June 22nd)

Happy Saturday.  The temp is in the low 80s with some humidity.

I am still recovering from my injections on Thursday.  I reacted badly enough that I will not have the drug again. I see my rheumatologist on Monday. I have a new tx plan for my back. I think I am going to not talk medical stuff.

i got my refurbished lap top. Amie is coming tomorrow so if I have issues she can help. I hope Syd can visit before she returns to school

I have laundry going. My machine and dryer are small so one normal basket is 2 loads. The joys os apartment living😁😁

Linda. Good to hear the your sils job is ok. I wish I could walk like I used to. I dislike CIJ . I have more than enough decorations and candles. In fact, I have items I did not use last year

I do like KG clothes. Her items fit me well.

time to switch items

enjoy your day.😘😘

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME. (Sunday, June 22nd)

Sorry to hear about your drug reaction, Barbara.  Sure hope your new plan works.  I am sure it is frustrating to adapt to smaller washers, etc.  But, I know we all need to adapt as we age/move, etc
