SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17th)

Good Evening!  Hope everyone has had a nice Saturday.

It was cold when I got up this morning (upper 20's), but made it to the upper 50's this afternoon.  Unfortunately, we are expecting showers tomorrow since there is a neighborhood party scheduled (mostly outdoors).  Perhaps the showers will not materialize.

There were lots of hospice supplies to deliver yesterday, and it took two trips.  I had a quick lunch in between the two sets of deliveries.  I found out that several of "my" patients had passed away, and one had moved to a home.   I will miss them and/or their caregivers.

The bereavement letters were not ready until late, so I did them after the newcomers party.  The party was fun, and I met several ladies who were happy to be out after staying home for the past couple of  years.

Due to the party tomorrow, I decided to go to the gym this afternoon instead of tomorrow.  I missed seeing most of my regular gym buddies, but at least I had my workout.

Just about to start my weekly financial review.

Thanks for the information about the air fryer, Fressa.  I am certainly tempted to order one, but a little concerned that my hot water heater may need to be replaced.  Hope not, but.....

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17th)

Good evening ladies, hope all is well.

Linda - Thank you for starting us tonight.  I am sorry about the loss of several of your paitents.  Glad you had a good time at your party.  I was supposed to go to my General Practioner's Christmas party, but I go my Tetnis shot (it is now whooping cough, dyptheria, and tetnis), it gave me the worst side effects.  I did not have that bad of side effect after two covid vaccines, and two boosters.  Needless to say, I did not go.   Glad I won't have to do that again for another 10 years.

I made a new bread today, it was called Apple Cheddar bread.  It was very good but, it was labor intensive.  Not sure if I will make it again.    So after working on this today, tomorow will be my cookie baking day. I have around 40 people coming for our open house on the 26th and I have not started baking cookies.  This week is going to be exciting.  Wish me luck.

Well off to watch some tv.  Hope everyone has a great evening.

Hi Linda @LindaLatte

We had a dusting of snow on the ground when I woke Saturday morning.  I'm glad you had a good time at the newcomers party.

Hi Susan @PAlady   I haven't had a tetanus booster in years.  One year I was stupid enough to take it in my arm and I couldn't use my arm the next day, lol.  After that I said, the hip is fine.

I'm sorry you experienced ill effects and am glad you won't have to do this again for a decade.

I think my sister is working on Christmas cookies this weekend.

LindaLatte---Sorry to hear about the loss of a few of your patients. So nice that the luncheon was pleasant and you had some pleasant conversation. It's always a welcome relief in the middle of tasks, chores and work.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the health of your water heater. We had to replace the three pressure valves after the new water heater which was a "surprise". We have a boiler system so I'm not sure how those valves differ from the gas or electric systems. It's been too many years to remember all the gas appliance set ups. I probably blocked it out of my mind after a repair. LOL I do remember that the total of the pressure valves( that failed one at a time) was $1400. That was with the maintainence contract.

I've just done the tally on the Christmas present expense and decided to have 2 cookies to forget about the total.

PALady--Your open holiday house sounds like a wonderful event. I'm sure it will all turn out like you want. That bread sounds wonderful. I used to bake a Christmas cookie that was called a Russian Tea Cake but it was similar to a snowball cookie. It took three hours to make but they were so tasty. I'm still a "work in progress" with how to pace myself with the holidays. Good luck but remember to give yourself some time off.

Birdmama---We finally had our first snow storm with just about an inch and some ice. The temps finally got above freezing so the ice melted with the ice melt. YIPPEE!!! It's cold and partly clloudy today. Worse storms are in the forecast for the entire week so I'm revising my "to do" lists.
