Good morning, shopping friends. It is a beautiful sunny day with temps expected to reach 60 today. Is Winter finally gone?
Right now, I'm watching AM Style. I have to be honest; I like to shop but right now, I realize I have too many things. I am also saving up for a return trip to Australia next year. If not, then the money saved can go toward other things such as the medical bills I paid this morning. For exaple, there is some cute Denim & Co. capris on clearance on AM Style which I like very much, but I indulged earlier this year on some Denim & Co. clearance capris. Enough is enough.
Now, this is funny! Something told me to do an item search for those capris being sold on AM Style. They are the ones I had purchased earlier this year on clearance. The price today is $2 less than what I paid.
I don't plan to use the beautiful day to run to the city or elsewhere. I really need to focus upon eliminating some things from the house. Right now, I have two big boxes on my deck which were delivered by UPS. One is a power washer from the Q and the other is my "subscribe and save" from Amazon. I was too tired yesterday to bring them inside, open and deal with them.
Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Hi ladies,

Good Morning, ladies!! Jean, thanks for getting things started. I am watching AMS, but so far, have not been tempted. I purchased the TSV yesterday, hoping they work for summer casual. We’ll see when they arrive how they look. I have been trying to be very selective about my purchases, as I, too have more than enough in the clothing and shoe departments. That return trip to Australia sounds like a great motivator to watch your spending, Jean. I love to travel, so that is something I am vigilant about saving for.
I’ll be doing some decluttering today to see what can go...hoping to thin out my clothes which have not been worn, feel uncomfortable and just don’t fit into my world anymore.
I’m very happy tax season is over, it was a rough one, but satisfying. Whatever your plans, enjoy your day!!

meallen--Thank you for the lovely rose and greeting. I hope the weather in NJ is kind to you this weekend.
Karen--I hope you enjoy your Denim & Co. TSV. I think they were cute but they were not something I would wear, but then perhaps I need to step out of my comfort zone. Good job on being careful and selective about your purchases.
Midnight is being exceptionally clingy today. I guess he has missed me while I worked. I feel tired as if I didn't get much sleep but I did. My motivation is now disappearing.

Good Morning and thanks for getting us started, Jean. I enjoy AM Style, but I can only watch the last hour or so due to the timing (currently we are three hours behind Q time). So far, I have not been tempted enough to order anything. I have gone back and forth on a couple of tops on my waitlist the past few days, but I think I'll continue to wait. I just have way too much stuff and at minimum need to make room. Hope you like your power washer.
Beautiful graphic, meallen. DH's facility has some rose bushes in the back, and someone has placed a few in a vase in his building. Lovely.
Hi Karen. Glad you made it through tax season. My accountant's office is closed for two weeks for a much needed break. Hope you enjoy yesterday's TSV, and good work on careful buying.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. DH was doing well yesterday afternoon (awake and smiling), and ate pretty well (not great).
Hope everyone has a nice day!
Hugs,
Linda

Good Morning all, I was able to sit down and more or less watch the last 2 hours of AM Style this morning. I can't say anything really tempted me.
I just ate some toast and am finishing a cup of coffee. After that I am heading off to the local DPW for the electronics recycling event. When I have something electronic that putzes out I store it in the basement and wait for this day :-)
This year I am e-cycling a TV, VCR, slide projector, coffee maker, Bose music system. I'm hoping that components of these items will find new life in another item.

Hi everyone - I've been reading our thread most days, but haven't gotten around to posting until now. Jean - sounds like you've been very good on the not-shopping-too-much. Hope you get a lot accomplished decluttering. Meallen - thanks for the lovely rose! Karen - I'm not sure I checked to see what yesterday's TSV was. I guess I'm behind the times. I think that your use of the word "selective" is a good one. We should all be selective with our purchases. Hope that you make good progress on your decluttering also. Linda - Glad to hear that your DH was doing well yesterday. We had one cold day with sprinkles on Thursday, otherwise it's been sunny and nice here. Bernie - Dropping off the electronics will feel like quite the accomplishment, I'm sure!
The highlights of this past week included taking my mother to a funeral, going to a doctor's appointment, and then yesterday I did 4 hours of gardening. Woke up kind-of stiff today, lol. I have so much more gardening to do I feel like we've barely made a dent. I also dropped off a bag of books at a little free library down the street.
I heard a quote a while back that stated..."20% of the average consumer's money is wasted making poor choices on food, clothing, and misc. items." I can see how that would be true. I wrote it down on a post-it and refer to it when I need a reminder not to over-shop.
I plan to do more gardening today, and if I'm really up to it, I might trim some goat hooves. My DD isn't quite keeping up with the job, so I might need to step in to help. I can only do one goat a session, as it's hard on the hands. And if they're not cooperating, then it's hard on your back too. Gotta love 'em!
Wishing everyone a pleasant weekend! ~ Charlene

Linda--I am so glad that DH is doing better. The waitlist is a great place to park items to debate worthiness of a purchase. Often once I park something there, it goes forgotten until I decide to review the items.
Bernie--You are making great use of the electronics recycling.
Charlene--You have had a busy week, and all that gardening yesterday really impacted you with stiffness. Perhaps, you need to rest the muscles today. That 20% of money wasted on purchases is a great reminder to watch purchases and their worthiness.
I did a few things around the house and began a new novel. The lawn person came so there is another expenditure I don't enjoy doing but it is better than my trying to do it with the steep banks and large lawn.
