SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (Monday November 16)

Hi Everyone!

Today it's cool with snow in the forecast for tomorrow. YIPPEE!!! We are winter people and dogs and enjoy the cold. It's the only season that I can breathe.

We had the last of the heavy rain and wind storms last night. So far, it looks like we did okay. A few branches came down from the trees but it doesn't look like they hit the house or the garage. Everything held in place including the Christmas decorations that I had staked in the yard. We have a ton of leaves all over the place. This really has to be the last of them.  Crossing my fingers on that one.

Today is laundry day. I think I found a new company for our furnace checkups. I'm waiting to hear the delivery confirmation time for the range tomorrow. I also need to pick up the dogs ear cleaner from the vets. I'm going to work all those errands around the range delivery. It will be so nice when I have a range that works. Last night just trying to boil water for past took forever. I've been lucky because this one has lasted for 30-35 years They don't make them like that anymore.

I did catch some of AM Style this morning. I've not purchased any item from the MukLuks line but the p.j's looked comfy. I had just ordered the Stan Herman velour loungwear so no more pj purchases for me. I saw a few things that caught my eye but I didn't order anything. I have plenty of clothes and am sure I'll find "surprises" when I reorganize the closets.

Hope everyone has a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (Monday November 16)

Fressa, I am a fall/winter weather gal too.  Our fall was fabulous and we did enjoy a couple of day trips in October.  I never complain about snow unless we get a foot at a time.   If I could go from May to September.  Aaaah!  We had a  wind advisory all day yesterday and luckily escaped any storm damage.  I am glad that your decorations survived your storms.  Laundry day here is on Thursday after we get done grocery shopping.  You get the reward for your stove lasting so long!  My last stove & fridge were 18 years old when we had a kitchen flood while we were on vacation.  Since we had to do a complete kitchen/dining room/living room remodel  we sold them.  My current stove and fridge are almost 9 years old.  My washer will be 26 years old in December.  We bought it when we built this house.

Yesterday was windy and a bit rainy. Today is sunny and cold.  We hot tubbed before lunch & it was fabulous.

Supper is pork chops in the oven and an acorn squash in the Nesco roaster.

We are heading to the gym.  Linda L,  our senior citizens center gym is very nice.  Only 5 people are allowed at one time for an hour.  We have to be masked & wipe down the equipment before we use it & after we are done using it.  The Crew sanitize everything after we are done & then the next session starts.  At night the entire sr. center is deep cleaned.  That's the only thing that is going on there right now.  Exercise classes just started being held in a brand new facility made for birthday, anniversary parties etc.

Hugs to all of you.

twinny70--It sounds like you are doing better than most on the appliances. The salesman told me that ranges now are only made to last 5-7 years at "most". I don't think I'll ever adjust to this "fact of life"...especially, when they are charging you a 20year price. I am always in a constant "sticker shock".

Our state still has the gyms shut down and the beauty shops and restaurants are still in the first phase. My blond hair is now dark brunette. I haven't found Clorox wipes for months in our stores.

Stay safe.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (Monday November 16)

Glad you are enjoying your cooler/cold weather, Fressa.  I know that Glenda feels the same, but Jean and I are warm weather people.  Good thing we are not forced to live in a climate we don't like.

After much thought, I ordered the TSV pajamas.  I usually wear nightgowns or nightshirts except when I travel. And, I have two pairs of pajamas for that purpose.  But, now that I am home so much, I found that wearing pajamas for lounging purposes, especially in the evening, is quite nice.  I like that these are reasonably priced and come in petites.  So, these will be a Christmas present to me, assuming I wait until Christmas for them.

Glad your Christmas decorations survived the storm, and hope your range delivery goes well tomorrow.  I can't believe that they are saying appliances only last 5-7 years, but I am afraid that is the case.  Really dread having to buy a new clothes washer when this one dies.

Hi Glenda.  Have fun at the gym.  Glad you enjoyed the hot tub.

My OLLI Class on the American Revolution was good as usual this morning.  Now, the AC/furnace company representative is doing a routine inspection.  It is pretty chilly in the house (particularly in my "office"), but quite warm outside -- 89 degrees.is the predicted high today.  It was cool on my walk this morning.

I found some cute dog-themed holiday throws on sale here

H223653, and I ordered them for my oldest GDS and his wife (who own a tiny little dog), and DGD who is a small dog "Mommy" as well.  Hope they enjoy them.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda
