Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME, Monday, April 6th

@Fressa  Our water bill usually goes up every year.  A house across the street from me sold for an ungodly price for this neighborhood last week.  Guess my property taxes will go up as a result.

@Desert Lily  I love fall and winter so I appreciate that you are not looking forward to doing yardwork in the spring and summer.

Jean's latest post --

I had a successful surgery on the right femur or thighbone today. I have very little pain now but do have to wear a brace over the heavy wrap to protect the repair. Google agreed with the orthopedic surgeon that I have the possibility of up to a year for full healing.

Birdmama--We had a similar situation on our street. There's no way anyone would pay $$ for what the asking price with the age of these homes. The homes that did sell are the few that did major updating. I'm thinking that they probably made that money back in the sale and broke even or a little proft. The two neighboring townships have also raised the taxes in similar percentages.  The entire situation gives me a migraine.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME, Monday, April 6th

Good Afternoon/Evening!  It is warm today (high of 82 degrees), but quite windy.  Rain was predicted, but it does not look like that will happen.  There are fire warnings for tomorrow when they are predicting dry and windy conditions.  Hope we don't have any fires.

The Sheriff's Auxiliary was quite busy yesterday -- many people are leaving to go to their other homes for the summer who wanted to set up house watch.  Today there was a ladies lunch which featured an all-female mariachi band.  They were quite good.  The featured charity (which gets money from raffle tickets) was my favorite food bank, and they also catered the lunch.  I caught up with one of my friends who said she had recently purchased a new computer and car.  Nice lady.

I don't know if I mentioned it here, but I received and returned the SG TSV dress on Thursday.  I just did not like the fabric at all, and it was a little too voluminous.  Very surprised to already have a refund from the Q (minus S&H each way).  Not happy to pay  nearly $11 to try on a dress, but.....

Since I do not wear shorts in public, I am not interested in the TSV today.  Good thing since I already have plenty of clothes.

I have not seen an update from Jean, but this morning she said it was possible that she would be transferred to a different facility for physical therapy as soon as today.

Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME, Monday, April 6th

Good Afternoon!  It is pretty windy today, and the fire/red flag warnings are still in effect.  I do not know if it was caused by the wind, but my right eye (good eye) has been bothering me.  I think I will try using the compress that I purchased from the eye doctor after I finish posting.

Jean was transferred to the other facility, which I think is closer to her home.  She said she was tired despite sleeping well, and would be having a full day of physical therapy.

Yesterday, my friend told me the hospice chaplain (and friend) was suffering from COVID for the third time, and missed Easter services plus was sick for his birthday last Wednesday.  I texted him, and he said he was better -- thank goodness.  He had a rough time with the two previous COVID bouts.

I don't have any exciting plans for the day -- gym, ironing, cooking, and hopefully cleaning.

Hope your weather is okay and so is your Sunday so far.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME, Monday, April 6th

Good Morning/Afternoon!  I misunderstood Jean's post -- she had not started PT yet.  She is in the closer to home facility.

It was cloudy this morning on my shorter than usual walk.  I needed to cut it short so that I could attend the monthly Sheriff's Auxiliary meeting.  Quite a few people were not there, and the meeting was shorter than usual.  The volunteer at the front desk asked me to come earlier for my shift since she needed to change clothes before going to a grief group lunch.

I don't think I shared the results of my x-rays -- my PCP has not contacted me, and it is difficult for me to understand the medical terms.  But, I think they indicated that my disk alignment, etc. is off, but not by a whole lot.  Dr. Google said that pain killers and physical therapy might be good solutions.  Since I am not having much pain, I will just keep that in mind for when/if it returns.  I have given up the medication.

Also, I have started recording my blood pressure readings since I was concerned that the numbers have been higher than recommended almost every time I have had my blood pressure taken the past few years.  The nurse practitioner told me to sit quietly for two to five minutes before taking my bp, and so far, it has been so much better.  Really happy about that.  I am also having some success with deep breathing when I wake up at night.

I don't have anything exciting planned for the day.  Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME, Monday, April 6th

Hi Everyone!

It's cloudy and warm today actually is in the 70's so I'm hopin the summer season is here to stay. I started on planting some mini roses but the rain chased me in the house. The gardens need quite a bit of attention this year with what survived or didn't. Next time out I hope to remember my large sheers. I took inventory of te fence panels and there's more than a few that are rusted. I'll have to take care of this while the stores have their inventory. otherwise the wildlife will just have an "all you can eat" out there.

The dynatraps have been outside for over a week but there still seems to be quite a few buzzing, flying critters everywhere. UG!!! Lots of bunnies around this year. I figure if I see bunnies than it must be rather free of any animal with teeth. I didn't install the lastest solar light set yet. They are a bit different with the look and material used. I'm not sure if I like them more or less. I'll have to see how they withstand the weather. They were worth the sale price that I paid and will work in the areas intended so that's good.

The discount sale offer today is temtping me but Ill have to dwell on it for a bit.

LindaLatte---Blood pressure is so sensitive for the readins. It's good that you been able to keep it in range of "good"..

Have a good evening everyone.
