SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME, Monday, April 27th

Good Morning/Afternoon!  I decided to start a new thread today -- nothing exciting going on in my world, but.....

I certainly do not need more clothes, but ordered the TSV top in purple.  Mainly because I don't have a top in that color, and the sleeve length and neck style are more to my liking than many.  This will be my first Lori Goldstein purchase -- hope that I ordered the right size and like the top.  I am more of a tailored/classic dresser, so I did not identify with most of her offerings, but I know many like them.

I am going to the Sheriff's Auxiliary a little early because one of my favorite volunteers is bringing in food for lunch.  Very kind of her.  Since I don't eat meat (except for fish), I will not be having the entree (chicken dish), but I'm looking forward to the potato salad.

It was pretty chilly when I started my walk, but should make it up to 82 degrees later today.  I have seen reports of storms, fires, etc., in other parts of the country.  Hope the weather is okay where you live.

Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.  Please post if you have a chance.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME, Monday, April 27th

Good Evening!  Hope everyone had a nice day.  It was cool on my walk this morning, but made it up to 86 degrees.  I am still dealing with allergy symptoms, but doing a little better.

I think I might have mentioned my youngest DGS wedding in November.  They have scaled back quite a bit, and decided not to invite some who they sent "save the date" mailers last year.  Anyway, yesterday I received my invitation in the mail.  It will be held outdoors in South Carolina, and the dress code was listed as dressy-casual.  I went to the website, and it said that cowboy hats and boots were encouraged.  Turns out that the bride will be wearing a wedding dress with a floor length veil and a train and my grandson will be wearing cowboy boots and a cowboy hat.  What a combination.

Since things seem to change with the wedding, I am not rushing into purchasing anything -- clothes, airline tickets, etc., anytime soon.  DD said that I can stay with them, and we will drive over to the wedding which will be held about 60 miles away from her house.

Things went pretty well at the Sheriff's Auxiliary yesterday and the senior lunch program today.  The gym was fairly busy, but I was able to get in plenty of time on the treadmill and most of my other exercises.

Bernie posted on her other thread that she ended up having her plumber remove and replace the faucet after having difficulty in removing the old one.  Fortunately, the plumber had a cancellation and was able to do the job in a little more than an hour.

Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME, Monday, April 27th

Hi Everyone!

I'm running behind (again) on posting. The remainder of the plants that I ordered arrived so I've been  trying to get them in the ground and planters in between the storms. UGH!! I managed to get into something that had thorns and had an allergic reaction to the leaves. This is my first day without my allergy cream on my arms. IThe hubby is going to dig it up and dispose of it so there are no more "surprises "  for me.

Our weather has been crazy like some others with hot  and then back to cold. I finally got tired of resetting the thermosat. (it's a pain) that I went back to the heat setting. for the nights. I have the screens in the windows and a few nice fans for the warmer days.

Lots of clothing programs with some "sales". I keep repeating to myself ---to look but not buy.  I did start to rdeclutter and sort my clothes (again)  and found a few items that I forgot that I had. That spare room is on the list for painting so I need some empty space to tackle that job.  It's going slower than I had hoped but I figure that any speed is better than zero speed. LOL

LindaLatte----Hope you like your LG top. It's nice to have a few "different" items inyour wardrobe. I purchased a Kim G sweatshirt months ago and really like it. I mostly wear Denim & Co or Anybody lines. They wear well and are comdy for me. It took me a long time to adjust to retirement and fiind clothes that work better for now.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME, Monday, April 27th

Good Morning, am I the only one marvelling that it's May 1st already?  Time is just flying by.  I noticed a red blotch on my left thigh late Monday afternoon, gave it Tuesday to improve or not and went to urgent care on Wednesday morning.  It's cellulitis of all things.  I caught it early and was given an antibiotic injection and 5 days of strong Keflex 4 times per day.  I'm seeing improvement already.  It's cloudy here and if we don't get rain I will probably putz around with my lawn mower.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME, Monday, April 27th

Good Morning/Afternoon!  Hope your plants make it okay, Fressa.  I was just reading how quite a few parts of the country will be having much colder weather than normal for the first part of May.  And, they specifically mentioned the possibility of plants freezing.  We had some much needed rain yesterday evening, and it is pretty nice today (normal temperatures for this time of the year.)

So sorry you have cellulitis, Bernie.  I never knew about cellulitis until I read about it on the thread.  Glad you went to urgent care quickly, and hope the antibiotics do the job.

The OLLI breakfast on Wednesday was pretty nice.  I sat next to a man who teaches classes about aviation/flying.  Not a subject that I thought would interest me, but he made it sound like a worthwhile class to take.

Grocery shopping on Wednesday was not great -- prices on produce was up and the quality of several items was down.

Yesterday's lunch with the "newcomers" group was disappointing -- at least as far as the food goes.  And, the drive to and from was long.  I ordered a lunch special  "beet salad" that included some feta cheese, etc. Turned out to be at least 90% lettuce.  Another lady who ordered the same salad pulled out all the beets -- tiny pieces which were probably less than two tablespoons.  Moral of the story -- I should have ordered the salmon or macaroni and cheese.  LOL

The company, including a lady with the Sheriff's Auxiliary Volunteers, was good.  The driver I was riding with decided to go to the Sketcher's store after lunch -- dangerous territory for me.  Another lady in the car bought a pair of shoes, but I did not.  But, now I am looking at shoes again.

DD and my SIL are driving to Maryland so that they and my DGS and his wife can take the twins to a Thomas the Tank exhibit tomorrow.  This is a delayed birthday gift for the twins.

Waves to Bernie, Fressa, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope everyone has a nice evening!

Hugs,

Linda
