Hi Everyone!
LindaLatte--Thanks for the update on Barbara. I will keep her in my prayers.
Martha sure has had neighbor problems and then some. I will never understand why people have to act in that manner or companies do not do the job that they are paid to do. Crossing my fingers that she gets some relief and soon.
Twinny70--I was happy to hear that Bransom Landing did not disappoint and that the Ozark Gospel group was very good. I remember my favorite Grandmother playing her gospel music every Sunday. Happy travels.
The weekend was a "blur". I bath (shower) each of the dogs. Usually I have a helper (hubby) but he was getting caught up on the yardwork from all the rainy days. The dogs did pretty good but trying to adjust water and suds and hold on to prevent an escapee really put the pressure on my knees. I was as drenched as they were by the time we were done. LOL
Friday I actually starating some "serious" grocery shopping. I haven't done that for over a month or two. My health issues were just not in line. The "locked in" prices were a bit disappointing as they were not very low just a freeze on the current high. At least the quality of the fruit and produce was better. I had prescriptions to pick up and our vitamins so needless to say it was a new high total. I have to finish this week but I think I'll do it in two trips.
Today is laundry day and first thing the dehumidifyer quit. It's long overdue so I have that on the list for this week. Trying to dispose of the old one hopefully will not be another challenge. I call the waste company of which sent me to a prerecorded message which sent me to a website. That "stuff" drives me crazy. I'm wating for them to respond to the email so hopefully they will pick it up. Since they increased the rates for this year they were touting the fact that they will pick up more than garbage included in your monthly fee. Crossing my fingrs that this is really acurate.
I watched some of the fasthion programs this morning. The clearance prices are still high but I did order 2 tunic t shirts on clearance and at $22 each. I like the tunic length for wearing when I do the grocery runs.
We have baby bunnies running thru the patio yard. I didn't realize they could squeeze so low to get under the gate. It looks like we have another litter of bunnies from under the neighbors porch. I prefer the bunnies to the turkeys if I have to pick one.
Have a good afternoon/evening.

Good Evening and thanks for getting us started, Fressa. Sounds like you had a very busy weekend. I'm not surprised about the grocery prices, but happy produce was better.
Hope you are able to get rid of the dehumidifier, and laundry goes okay. Also hope you like the tunic T-shirts you ordered.
I was busy with hospice today -- first I put together gift bags for the nurses. Came back home for a quick lunch, and then visited my hospice patient. I was concerned since she didn't open her eyes or respond to me when I talked to her. Long story short, after 30 minutes or so, I ended up talking to her caregiver (at the assisted living facility). Her caregiver said my patient has days like this. Other days, she is awake a lot more. The caregiver talked to the hospice nurse about it, and I told the volunteer coordinator. The nurse is supposed to visit tomorrow, which makes me feel better.
After the visit, I spent time in the hospice office with the mailings and doing a little filing.
Now, I am behind in most everything else -- cooking, cleaning, exercising, etc. I did have a nice walk this morning (not too hot or cool.)
My DGD had a root canal today -- I didn't know anything about it,just the one my SIL is having next week. DD was busy driving her to and from plus doing some grocery shopping, etc. Seems like the dentists and endodontists in SC are making some money off of their family. LOL
Waves to Fressa, Glenda, Bernie, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda

Fressa, I have not done a lot of grocery shopping for a few weeks. I am hoping that the fresh fruit is as reasonable as it was a few weeks ago.
Linda L, you are one busy lady. Thanks for the update on Sydney. I hope that she is happy with her decision. Sorry about the dentist trips for your dgd and sil.
Gas prices were $2.89-3.05. Now that we are back in IL the price is $3.69. I think it was $3.59 when we left home two weeks ago.
I did some shopping in Rolla, MO as we were passing through. I bought a top at Ross's for $9.99, 6 pairs of no show socks for $5.99 & a pair of navy step in sneakers on sale for $19.99. They will be nice with my shorts and skorts. In the Fall, I can wear them with slacks or to the gym.
We are at a nice motel and took a swim for the first time in two weeks. The Southern pools were all outside and not open yet. I wore the $4.50 swimsuit with a little skirt that I bought at the QVC Outlet store in Lancasrer, PA and it was perfect.
Home is about 4 hours away.
Hugs to all of you.

Good Evening. I guess you are home by now, Glenda. I know that gasoline is much less expensive in South Carolina than it is here, so I guess that is true in other parts of the south. Like you, I purchased 6 pairs of no show socks at Ross the other day. What a coincidence. Hope you have good luck at the grocery store.
The senior lunch program went well today. They are having a special party for people 100 years plus this Friday, and the director told me a great story. A man was looking around (there are several buildings in the complex), and she asked if she could help him. He said he wanted to know where the Friday party would be held, and she told him. He didn't have a cane, walker, or anything else, and she asked if he was accompanying a friend. He said that he is 100 years old. They were both from Illinois, and had a good chat. She remarked on his being able to walk with no assistance, etc, and he said he thanks the good Lord every day. She told him he was an inspiration, which is certainly true.
The gym was a bit crowded when I arrived, but I was able to use all but one of "my" machines.
Unfortunately, DGD's root canal was painful, and the doctor said it was harder than expected.
Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.
Hugs,
Linda

Linda L, We are back home safe and sound. We unloaded the Subaru and I did a load of sheets/swim suits/towels and hung them outside. It's in the 70's & sunny so I will be doing a lot more laundry tomorrow. Funny that you bought the no see socks. Sorry about the root canal being so painful. Gas prices went down to $3.43 & it was $3.59.
DH mowed the lawn for the first time this year and it was pretty long.
We have a lot of things to do tomorrow and then hope to go see our favorite polka band & have lunch there.
More later.
Hugs to all of you.

Hello all, sounds like everyone is keeping busy
I don't have anything favorable to report on the clown show (aka fence installation). I got a call at noon on Monday that Mack was supposed to work that day but he was delivering supplies instead. I was told that he would work a full day, not a half day on Tuesday. He worked 3 hours on Tuesday.
He arrives, does stuff that looks like progress is being made. When he leaves and I look at the work I see that it has to be redone. For example, none of the U-channels next to the fence posts have been scr*wed in. Even a DIY'er knows the U-channels need to be attached the fence posts. In order to attach the U-channels to the fence post, the top rail and most of the pickets will have to be removed for each large section.
I left a voicemail for the owner asking when during the installation process the U-channels will be corrected.
I've hired roofing companies and plumbers and have never had an experience like this before.

Birdmama---What an ordeal you are having with the fence! I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that they complete the fence properly and in decent time. They must have a relative up north near us. Our neighbor has been having his cabinets "re-faced" for the last three days.(and counting) It's been tricky trying to get up the hill of a driveway avoiding cabinet bits and the huge truck and station wagon at the top of the drive. My days of driving on two of the four wheels of the car are behind me so I'm staying in until they are done. I'm so glad I had ordered replacement solar lights. (just in case)
I just will never understand why a company operates in such a manner. (especially nwo with the market demand so low) Keeping fingers and paws crossed for you.

Good Evening! Hope you and your DH were able to see your polka band, Glenda. Gasoline here continues to be $3.79 a gallon. Hope it is lower when I need to fill up.
Very sorry you are having so much trouble with the fence, Bernie. Fingers crossed that it will be completed properly some day.
I don't blame you for not wanting to drive through the obstacle course on your street, Fressa. I hope they finish the job soon.
Jean told me that her niece is taking her for a grocery pick-up plus hair and nail appointments tomorrow. She is very happy to get out of the house for a change.
Too long of a story to tell, but I have been dealing with Microsoft charges. The homeowner's association computer and my personal computer have accounts, but both under my name. Fingers crossed all will be okay, but I lost some sleep worrying about it.
It was a bit windy this morning when I took my walk, but sunny and dry. Our high for the day was only in the upper 70's. The pollen is bothering my eyes big time.
I did grocery shopping at three stores (also bought food for the food bank pick up by the Post Office on Saturday and diapers for a church/food bank drive). Walmart had moved things around which made it difficult to find what I wanted.
There were lots of leftover bananas from the senior lunch program yesterday, so I am in the midst of baking three loaves of banana bread. Also doing some cleaning.
I received information about my upcoming trip, and selected seats on the flights. Not many seats left that didn't involve paying extra, so the seats are far from ideal. Oh well.
Waves to all of our posters and readers.
Sleep well.
Hugs,
Linda

LindaLatte- Thanks for the update on Jean.
Dealing with billing "messes" drives me crazy. It seems like such a feat to get to the person who can really help correct the error. Good Luck!!!
Happy that at least you got seats for your trips. Everything is extra drives me crazy when it comes to charging for the basic items that should be included in the ticket price. It seems like a lot of companies are trying to make extra$ using this method. The vet's office has this 'act" in play. I asked to see a list of what is included in the exam and they just stared at me. Apparently, the only thing included is the vet walking into the room. After that, it's all an extra charge. Ridiculous but they know they got you.
I hope to attempt a few errands today but the neighbors cabinet guys are back. Rats!! The hubby and I thought they were finished yesterday. Not sure what I'll decide depending on how I feel.

Good Evening! Hope you were able to get out and do your errands, Fressa. I saw Jean and her niece on FB, and they both looked happy after their visit into town for shopping, hair and nails.
I had a nice walk this morning (a little cool to start, but warmed up), and then did hospice deliveries and mailings. I gave one of the banana breads to the hospice office and the other two to the senior lunch program since I didn't think they needed three.
There are some new hospice patients who need volunteers, so I may be getting one or two more. I have delivered supplies to one of them, and I think we would be a good fit.
The gym went fine, and I was able to pick up a book that I had on reserve at the library.
Waves to Fressa, Glenda, Bernie, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda
