Hi Everyone!
LindaLatte--Thanks for the update on Jean. Happy to hear that the Walmart was open and stocked. Nice that they were able to donate some items.
Birdmama--My bf used to get their family home brick repointed every so many years. I remember her having to save more than a few thoudand each time. It sounds like you're getting a long list of repairs and replacemtn for that sum. I'll cross my fingers for you but I bet it will look so nice when it's all done.
Today is sunny and cool.YIPPEE! It was the first day that I could turn off one of the fans for the dogs. A few pennies saved on the light bill. I am so overdue on grocery shopping between health issues and my knees that I'm crossing my fingers I get there today. The hubby was making some quick stops for us. This week salsa was $6.50 a jar. UGH! He said that he would switch brands to his second choice. (about $4 per jar) I think I'm numb to the prices at this point. It's get what you need and hope for a sale on something in your cart.
I watched the home show on HSN this morning and ordered some type of sealing tape instead of caulk for the kitchen backsplash. We don't have a talent for the caulking but do our best. This is silicone so I'm hopeful this will work better. Fingers crossed.
This weekend is the chimney cap repair. The supplies were delivered this week and the weather looks good. Cross your fingers.
Have a good weekend.

Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.
Fressa - Thank you for starting us today. Hope the chimmeny cap repair goes well and quickly. Our weather has cooled down and it is good weather to do outside projects. I hope you are feeling well enough to go shopping.
Bernie - Hope the dryer repair went well. You do have quite the list of things to do on the house - when we had to put money in our house, I just say to myself - Reale value. Hope all goes well.
Linda - Your "class" sounds very interesting, you can not audit classes here until you are 65. I have a few more years to go, but I would love to do that around here.
We have been a little busy around here with small and larger projects. Seems you get one done and find a new one to contend with. We did get our new front door and it turned out nicer that I thought. I was having second thoughts on the door because we ordered it so long ago and I gentleman who put it up for us had projects to do ahead of us, and I forgot what the door really looked like. Anything you order or need done around here is at least 6 weeks out.
Our weather has cooled down to the 70's and I am loving it. I am going to pull the summer flowers this weekend and put in mums. Fall is my favorite season, so time to Fall the place up. I don't put up inside decorations for fall, but I do like to change the flowers outside.
Need to get a couple things done before ordering pizza. Hope everyone has a great evening.

Happy Birthday, Fressa! Glad your weather is nice for your special day.
I certainly hope this house project goes much better than the fence did, Bernie. It sounds like it is needed, and I agree with not worrying about things that may not be a problem in your lifetime.
Happy you like the new door, Susan. Also glad your weather has improved. Although my "classes" are through an organization affiliated with the university, they are not part of regular university offerings. No one gets university "credit" for them, and you only need to be 55 (I think) to join OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute). The on-line classes are open to anyone no matter where they live. In fact, several of the "study group leaders" who give on-line classes don't live in Arizona -- some in California, South Carolina, Ohio, etc.
I know that there are many other OLLI (and similar) organizations throughout the country, but perhaps not in your area.
I was busy with hospice most of the day (visits, deliveries, filing, etc.) But, I did have a chance to walk Gigi this morning. The weather was nice -- upper 60's - low 70's, but it is 96 degrees at the moment.
Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Hugs,
Linda
P.S. My SG dress (A54131) came, and it fits perfectly. Very pleased that I guessed right on the size (petite XS), and the wine color is nice.

I didn't see this post until I posted on the last one.
Happy Birthday🎂 fressa. Our weather has been in the 70's all week and I think it's going to be nice next week too. We might get a little shower tomorrow.
Susan, fall is my favorite time of the year too. My dh pulled out 4 of my 7 tomato plants this afternoon. I got a lot of tomatoes so I was happy. I do a bit of decorating inside, but I am hoping to put in a few mums when we get back home.
Linda L, your classes always seem to be interesting. I got a bill in the mail for my last cortisone shots which I never get, so I dropped by the clinic business office when I was there a couple of days ago. She told me to call my insurance company, but I went to see them as they are in town. They are so nice and checked it out. It had been paid for!
Glenda
ETA: That dress is a beautiful color. I am sure you will look very nice in it.

Birdmama--Thank you for my birthday wishes. You always find the nicest pictures.

PALady---I'm happy that your door is finally installed and you are pleased with it. I always fret over those large purchases until they are installed.
I have reduced my amount of seasonal/holiday decorating inside and outside but still do a fair amount. I got an early start and then got sidetracked with a donations project. Eventually it will all get done. I was surprised at the number of projects that we had this year. UGH!!

LindaLatte--So glad you got to walk Gigi. It sounds like you are super busy with your hospice duties. The Olli classes always sound so interesting to me. My treat to me is when most of these maintance projects ae completed that I can sit and read a book. Crossing my fingers that I see that by the holidays.
I'm happy the SG dress is a good one. The sizing isuse seems to be a growing concern with the purchases. I've been lucky for the most part but I find that I really hesitiate when I'm shopping for gifts. (especially for my DIL)

twinny70---Our weather has been on the cool side with warming up in the afternoon. Not bad at all. Rain for tomorrow so I'm hoping to get some weeding accomplished today.
I did accoomplish the major grocery shopping yesterday. WOO-HOO!!! Our pantry was almost empty. I was out of everything except meat. The total was crazy high but I did get most of the items on my list. I'll have to return next week for refriger items and treat items.
We are still getting a few tomatoes this week. Most likely will pull those plants next weekend.

Good Afternoon! Glad you got your grocery shopping done, Fressa. Sorry it was so expensive.
I heard from Barbara, and unfortunately she had a
bad fall about three weeks ago. Her doctor took x-rays and said she had fractured a couple of vertebrae. After she has a MRI, he will determine the next steps. She had a couple injections under sedation yesterday and slept most of the day. She is feeling better today.
She is putting her Arizona house on the market on October 1st. Syd is having a good time at college and is very focused on her studies.
Our weather was nice on my walk this morning -- low 60's, but we are expecting a high of 98 degrees later. I used to love Fall, but we don't have a true Fall here. Glad those of you who are are happy campers. I still like Fall decorations very much.
After my walk, my day went downhill. For one thing, my Keurig died -- I thought it was something that I did and wasted two K-cups before realizing that it was a defect. Since this was a replacement from the company for an earlier one that died, there was no guaranty. I have a small Mr. Coffee so I was able to have my coffee, but wasted a bunch of time and made a mess. I have ordered another Keurig (different type) from Amazon, and I got a 3-year warranty. I may go ahead and try a different brand that doesn't use K-cups next year. But, I have a pretty large amount of K-cups to use up first.
Then I received a text message that the neighborhood "ice cream social" scheduled for tomorrow had been canceled since the host was exposed to COVID when he did some volunteer work yesterday. Hopefully, he will not get COVID, or only gets a mild case if he does.
I did some more weeding in the alley behind my house this morning. Note to self -- easier to do if it has rained a bit. Still more to do. Now I have two bags of yard waste in addition to a Keurig for the trash.
The TSV sheets would be too hot for here, so I am not ordering them. I would like to take advantage of the free S&H but not unless I find something I need or at least want. My SG blazer is supposed to arrive today. Hopefully, it will fit as well as the other one I have in that style.
Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Glenda, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.
Have a nice evening everyone.
Hugs,
Linda
