SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (FRIDAY,DEC.18)

Hi Everyone!

Today is cloudy and cold. It rain but snow is in the forecast. If I accomplish any of my grocery shopping or errands I'll be thrilled. I just don't want to be caught in that "wintry mix". UGH!!

I did watch some of the jewelry programs. I just love the "sparkles". LOL It was a good thing I was so late making dinner last night because I only saw bits and pieces of the programs. I just find it relaxing. I think it's like that white noise on those machines. LOL

I have been using the new Keurig all week and really like it. It only has a 3 cup capcity and that works well. I wasn't so happy that I had to purchase the water filter holder and etc. but I found a sale at BBB. I also have been using the Kinja air fryer all week. I LOVE that thing. No more broken nails trying to push the release button on the fryer or loose screws on the frying basket that wouldn't stay in the basket. It is the perfect size for 2 people. I can fit the meat/fish and potatoes in the wire basket and still have room. So pleased that I took the plunge.

I'm way behind on cleaning the house and other errands and the dogs still need a bath for Christmas. I'm trying to pace myself but that's never been one of my strong suits. Lol.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (FRIDAY,DEC.18)

Good Morning/Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Fressa.  Hope the weather cooperates so you can do your shopping.

Please remind me about what model Ninja air fryer you purchased. While it is certainly not a need, I have been thinking about buying a small air fryer since I love things like fried zucchini and onion rings, but do not eat them due to the fat.  My DD has a Ninja, and highly recommends the brand.

Thank goodness it was warmer this morning -- in the low 30's.  We are expecting highs in the 50's later.

The van trip up to see the lights was good, but I decided they just tried to fit too many seats in the van.  I thought airplane seats were small, but these were considerably smaller.  While most of us were not that large, some were handicapped, and had real difficulty getting into and out of the seats.  And, it wasn't that easy for me.

At the neighborhood in Tucson, they have "wagons" that you take to see the lights, and they were certainly not made for comfort or ease of getting on or off.  Plus, it was in the low 40's so it was chilly.

But, the decorations were wonderful.  And, I met some very nice people.  Lots of smiling faces.

Tonight I have a newcomers party to attend, and some of the ladies are making lasagna (including vegetarian lasagna).  I am looking forward to the party -- really living it up this year compared to the past two with COVID concerns.

DD told me more details about the driving and the party she and my SIL attended.  She sat next to a man who has some role in human relations, and he told her that she would be a natural for that sort of job.  She is very excited about the possibility, and is looking for courses so that she can be certified to do the work.  The man told her that this could be remote work, and that he might be able to hire her or find another company that could.

Another great outcome was that they gave my SIL a bonus check for working there for five years, and said many nice things about him.  Also, DD won one of five Amazon gift cards ($100) for a raffle.  Definitely worth the trip for them.

Hope to hear from hospice soon.  Neither the letters nor the supplies were ready yesterday.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (FRIDAY,DEC.18)

LindaLatte---I have the first Ninja Air Fryer (all it does is the air frying and toast). The XL is just abut 4-6" larger but I have very little counter space. I just wanted an air fryer and none of those extra features. This one air fry, air roast, air broil, warm and dehydrates. It comes with the wire air fry basket, bake tray and crumb liner. It also stands up for easy storage. That's the other feature I needed. I haven't notice it heating up the kitchen like the other ones did.

That's good news about your DD's meeting that man. Crossing my fingers something good turns out for her.

I love how the different states and communities still continue the gatherings for the lights.Enjoy your newcomers event.

I'm glad that you like your air fryer and coffee pot @Fressa   I've avoided the jewelry shows because I don't need the temptation, lol.

I'm sorry they crammed too many people into the 'lights tour' bus @LindaLatte   It sounds like the Christmas party really worked out for your DD and SIL.
