Good morning everyone! I'm getting ready to leave in a little while, but thought I'd check in first. To my disappointment my new friend didn't win the mayoral race - looks likes it's more of the good ol' boys. Apparently the bill to sell wine in grocery stores passed, so that greatly increases our chances of getting a Trader Joe's in town.

It's a bit chilly out and rain is forecast for later - I'm wearing one of my autumn leaf design sweaters and am debating whether I should take a jacket as well. Probably best.

Guess I'd better get Autumn back in her crate and be on my way - she gets out of her collar when on a tie-up, so that's not an option - can't have her going off exploring as she likes to do.

Rainy here---but not heavy so the ground is soaking it in. We really do need the moisuture. Heard a weather reports of 30's next week!! Well, I guess it is November.

I am glad the elections are over---so much money spent on ads etc. Even a portion of it could have been used for good projects.

Enjoy your trip===hope the restaurant is good. I personally am not a Guy fan---but I know many people enjoy him. I know he reviewed a restaurant in the city---a very small place---ut I have never been there.

Hello friends!! Thank you for starting us Arlene.

I am so happy to have some rain, although it does make me miss my Sweetie. Hard to believe we have been married 21 years next Wednesday! The dress I wore to the ball fit so much better yesterday and I felt FANTASTIC in it - about 30 pounds lighter in a year. Very amazing to "see" it so "in my face" that way.

We had a party at work for lunch and it was really nice. Time to get back at it!

Good Afternoon! I have been trying to post for quite a while, but somehow I couldn't do so. Thanks for getting us started Arlene, and hope you have a nice time today. Sorry your friend lost the election. I'm just happy the ads should be stopping.

Hi LindaR -- glad you are getting some rain. I agree with you about all those political ads -- what a waste of money that could have been better spent.

Great news on your weight loss Kathleen. Also glad you had some rain, and enjoyed the party at work.

I'm mega frustrated today. First of all, I found that I can't get an internet connection from my desk in the "new" room. I took my computer to the kitchen for several months since it was too hot out there, and now I can't get a good internet signal. That makes my desk useless. I checked on-line for solutions, and ordered something from Amazon that is supposed to help. If it does not, back it goes. Meanwhile, I called the refrigerator service company this morning only to find that I wasn't on the list for service today. Then I called Home Depot, and they said that they changed companies late yesterday, and didn't tell me because it was late??? I skipped my walk this morning since I wanted to be ready for the repair guy at 8:00, anyway, before I get mad all over again I hope things will be resolved soon. The new repair company didn't answer the phone, but finally called me back, and checked. They are supposed to send someone between 2:00 and 5:00 today. I had an appointment at Curves (weight and measure) at 3:15, so I changed it to this morning. I'm not normally quick to anger, but ..... I certainly hope that things can be fixed this afternoon.

Oh Linda, that is understandable. I hate it when they don't come and you are waiting around. It's like don't they think we have a life to live?!! I'm angry for you! I hope you get your internet worked out too.

The work party was fun and it all worked out. I did complain to someone about all the complainers here, they really know how to take the fun out of party. No matter what I do, I always hear it about something - this time it was the pizza provider I chose.

But we had a good time anyway. I've still got a lot of work to do. Tonight is my women's group and I'm looking foward to it. We start a Bible Study!

Linda R, I am glad the election is over too. So much $$$ spent on junk mail. We are supposed to be in the 30's by the weekend too.

RC, Wow. That 30 pound weight loss is great. Happy Anniversary early. Do you have any special plans?

LL, Too bad about all of your plans being messed up with repairmen. Hopefully the fridge will get fixed soon. Hopefully tomorrow will go better for you.

Yesterday DH & I took my mom to her eye appt. She still has some inflammation in her eye, but the Dr. did agree that we could do eye drops every four hours from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Right now I am still pretty tired & the 9:00 p.m. was a hardship on me.

Today I got my hair cut kind of short & spikey. Just a little bit so it's not over the edge. I have had it done like this before & loved it. DH took mom & did some banking & tried to get her eye drop refills at our local clinic. The Dr. from yesterday didn't fill out the prescription form correctly & they couldn't read his signature. After going to the clinic today 3 times only to be told that he didn't call them back (he is only there on Tuesday's) & they couldn't get another Dr. or nurse to call them, they cannot refill her prescription. DH & I will try to get it tomorrow along with the 2 that they could refill. To complicate things, one of the refills is only good for 4 days & should have been thrown away last week already. DH & I had an appt. with one of the insurance co. in town pertaining to us needing to change our supplemental insurance for next year. Between that & eye drop duty we are both worn out.

Tomorrow we need to go see the gal at ADRC also pertaining to our new insurance plans for next year. Hopefully the eye drops will be ready so we can start the process all over again. DH & I are so ready for our mini vacation starting Friday morning & ending Sunday night. My cousin will be coming up & staying with mom for two nights so that is taken care of. Mom does enjoy her 7:00 a.m. gal, so I am thankful for that.

Good evening, everyone! It has been a long day. I went to work at 7am and got home at 4:45pm. Second grade students keep you on your toes. The aide didn't come to work today so I had the little darlings all to myself. I never saw a bathroom from the time I left home until Noon and then again a long haul until I got home at 4:45pm. You can't leave the angels alone. I'm debating hitting the bed early tonight.

Arlene--Thanks for starting the thread. Enjoy your trip and the restaurant. I do hope it is everything you envision.

Kathleen--Congrats upon the weight loss. Also congrats upon your 21 years of marriage. In every group, there is someone who will complain.

Linda--Sorry that you didn't get the refrigerator serviced today, especially when altering you schedule to accommodate the planned service.

Twinny--A new hair style is just what one needs to a refresher. I'm glad the eye drop schedule for your mom seems to be promising. It is understandable that you are exhausted.

Jean, Yes that age group is very energetic. I am tired, but my brother is in town tonight so that helps a lot. It just seems like right now we have lots appts. to go to & they aren't all medical ones. Just a break in this routine will be so beneficial for both of us. I am not used to running anywhere a dozen times day. I will be glad when it snows & I have an excuse to stay in the house.
