The only thing SCUBA about this garment is the shape! Neoprene is made of synthetic rubber isn't it?

The description below if from the website of DuPont (who makes neoprene). It makes me wonder who would want to wear an everyday garment made of a rubber simulant, and to me, it doesn't matter if it's George Simonton or the $1000 Balenciaga.
<h1 style="border: 0px; font-family: Arial, 'Segoe UI', sans-serif; font-stretch: inherit; line-height: 25px; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 13px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; color: #656e6e;"> DuPont™ Neoprene Polychloroprene</h1>Invented by DuPont in 1931, Neoprene is a versatile synthetic rubber still used for many chemical and weather-resistant applications today.
DuPont™ Neoprene polychloroprene was originally used as an oil-resistant replacement for natural rubber.
Today, solid grades are used in synthetic rubber goods, and as base resins for adhesives. Water-based dispersions are ideal for adhesives, dipped goods and foam. Resistant to oil, wax and grease, Neoprene can withstand temperatures from -50°C to 120°C. It’s also inherently resistant to ozone, weathering, and water or soil immersion.
DuPont is the only producer of Neoprene polychloroprene in North America, and our decades of material-specific experience continue to inform new application development around the world.

Not one of my favorite fabrics

I wouldn't want to wear a dress made out of neoprene.... I just wonder about the sizing...especially that first dress... I am a scuba diver, and those neoprene wetsuits, tho stretchy, show every bump and curve I have. NOT flattering!

Scuba = a fad

I bought a pair of scuba pants at Stein Mart last weekend. I plan to try them out tomorrow for a few hours. They seem very comfy. I'm worried they'll be too hot to wear all day.
