What is scuba? A style? A fabric? It seems to be popping up everywhere. I don't intend to whale fishing or looking for sharks.

Re: SCUBA EVERYTHING/

[ Edited ]

I found it as a fabric.

Scuba fabric is a more fashionable version of neoprene fabric. Both neoprene and scuba are made from the same materials. But neoprene is used for more technical purposes, while scuba is designed to be used for fashionable clothing as well as clothing that needs to be technical but still fashionable- such as dance clothing.

You’ve probably actually seen scuba fabric without knowing what you were looking at, especially if you’ve ever shopped for skirts or dresses that are more formal. The fabric is very smooth and heavy, but it has some stretch because it is made from a blend of polyester and spandex/lycra fibers.

The 'modern' version of Scuba exploded in popularity of few years back because of a top by Lululemon that retails for around $90. It's a half zip hoodie and the material is on the thick side for a hoodie. It's definitely an athleisure fabric.

I know. It would be like wearing a giant baggie. I guess you could eliminate using the sauna at the gym.

I don't care for the look or feel of scuba "fabric."  I bought a jacket with a scuba hood and gave it away.  Really disliked how it looked.
