Please help me out here! Lol... kidding, kind of! I have TONS of clothes that I will not need anymore... after I retire from the city. I've got many sisters ... but most that have retired before me and do not need my clothes. Tons of nieces that do not need my clothes. Maybe just donate to a local company, which I most likely will do. 

I have bought so much from the Q over the years that I could probably buy a house! 😬 What have I done?! 🤪 QVC has served me well! 🥰

 Here i am at 0155, cant sleep, mentally going through my closet, deciding what to donate to the thrift store later today. And I get up and come upon your post. My life as a retiree consists of medical and dental appts, church, occasionally eating out. All very casual. I have waaaayy more clothes than I can possibly wear. Many from qvc. Out they go!

My mother expected me to wear her old clothes.    Trouble was...she was 6 sizes larger.

I have both donated and sold clothing in a local consignment shop.

@JFD12 ............contact a local women's shelter a lot of times they need clothes.  Check with local homeless shelters.

Sad to say but most donated clothes end up in landfills.

When I retired, my sister got my work clothes.  The ones she wanted. Now, there's favorite comfortable clothes I wear.  Did get some new blouses awhile back.

I think a person always has more clothes than they need.  I work in an office that is casual dress.  Jeans.   Very casual.  My second job is more dress up.  Nice slacks, tops, jackets and that sort of thing but not over the top either.  I only work when they need me.  This month 6 times.  This is my retirement job that started before I retired.  Funny story.

I go though my closet all the time and donate on a regular basis.  Some items I don't wear as much as I use to but still hang on to them.  Some I move out and some go eventually when I feel  like ok long enough.  Clothes are expensive so nice to have the variety I do have.  

In the summer I switch from jeans to more casual pants and that way I use more of what I do have.  

When I buy clothes now I say to myself will you wear this when retired or will you use for your retirement job. No purchasing like I use to. I bought a couple Kim's pants for summer and that is it.  The length works well for me.  

I hardly watch the Q any more and that helped me cutting back on purchases.  I was a big easy pay person but no more.  All paid and going to keep it that way.

I donated all my corporate clothes to women's shelters after I retired. Since then, I've donated even more to them. These women have nothing and I'm thrilled if my clothes help even 1 woman get back on her feet.

We've been cleaning out our closets for about the past 6 months. As I sit here, my back's sore from helping DH clear out his closet. We donated his suits and dress shirts to the Salvation Army about 6 months ago. Yesterday we culled out 7 trash bags of extra casual clothing and shoes. How he thought he'd need 10 white polo shirts, 7 red ones and multiples of other colors is beyond me! 🤔

Of course, I have no room to talk. After being retired 15 years, I finally donated my business suits and other attire last Fall. I kept 1 or 2 just in case, but had to admit there was no point in hanging onto items I'd never need again when someone else might benefit from them. While most of my clothes were from Talbots, a good number were from QVC. 

Pick a couple of outfits that you may use in retirement, then rip that bandage off and donate the rest. Good quality clothing is hard to come by and it's beyond the means of a lot of women who need it. Plus, think of all the space you'll gain in your closets!
