Many of my tops continue to have darts in them! I love the darts and the cotton. It's a sign of quality materials and workmanship.
I really surprised more of you don't wear clothing with darts for a perfect fit. I'm speaking as a female who isn't large in the bust or hip areas but am pleased with my small waist. Darts help the clothing shape the figure!

The darts only pointed out my flat chest. I wouldn't buy anything that has them.

I don't mind darts as long as they are not on the back side of my jeans...on the side- seams or on the top yoke. No!

The most expensive clothing still has darts. Whenever they have them, the host or rep always points them out as better fitted and more expensive.

Can you tell me if those blouses are 100% cotton or have some spandex in them?

I think you need to try on clothing in a dressing room and be able to see whether the darts are actually in the right place.

As I said upthread, I just bought two Isaac Mizrahi camp shirts, not realizing they had darts.  They aren't where my bustline is, so what good is that?

I've decided not to wear them buttoned, but with a tank top and the shirts unbuttoned.  The darts ruined how I would have liked to wear them.

I think princess seaming has more or less replaced darts.

I was thinking the same thing

@faeriemoon .  I prefer wearing fitted clothing and princess seams does the trick.  No need for darts.

"Princess seams are long, curved seams that shape garments to fit the body, particularly around the bust, by creating a smooth, tailored look without needing a waistline."

I thought this was about the disappearance of dresses.  Yes, women used to wear dresses for casual outings or important ones.  Seniors almost never wear dresses. Skirts too.  That's gone. I don't wear dresses but plenty of skirts.

@songbird

The world has changed, and women are a lot more active than in the days when women wore dresses all the time.

My grandmother wore "house dresses," and my mother wore them when I was small.

Of course, they wore nice dresses when they went shopping or off to church.

During my working years, I had very nice business suits.  Several were 3-piece: a jacket, a skirt, and tailored trousers.

Other than my sister's wedding, I don't recall the last time I wore a dress.
