Re: ReFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of March 13

Sedona should be a fun trip, Barbara. Someday I'd like to go there.

We saw the surgeon's assistant today. The nerve or nerves from the elbow are the problem. Surgery is more complicated than the carpal tunnel from some years ago of course so if he has the surgery it won't be till after the London trip.

There's lots of arthritis in the neck. While there xrays for the arm and hand were done. The large knuckle on his pointer finger is deformed and there's some loss of muscle between it and the thumb.

On the way home we did some grocery shopping at Wegman's and dropped books off at the library. Last week recalls went out for some foods- Digiornos, Stouffers,  and I think Lean Cuisine. Welshman's actually contacted people who had bought the recalled products to let them know.

Linda, Happy Birthday to your DH.

Claudia...that s too bad about rs arthritis and nerve problems. I hope he can find some relief. How nice that your grocery store informs of recalls.

Linda...happy, happy birthday tour your dh.🎂🎂

I always try to stop there on our way home from appointments. Much better selection than here. 5% off Tuesdays for seniors doesn't hurt either. We may need to see R's gp again as the past few days both hands have been shaky. Fix one thing and something else acts up.

Re: ReFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of March 13

Sorry to hear about R's issues, Claudia.  It is a shame he may need surgery, etc.  I do hope he gets some relief soon.  Glad you were able to take back the recalled food.  Fry's did that once when ice cream was recalled.  I was quite surprised that COSTCO refunded $50 on DGS's computer -- they negotiated a better price, and sent me an e-mail about it.  Fry's had informed us by phone.

It is too bad you can't go in the sun, Barbara.  But, better safe than sorry.  I love Sedona.  Hope you enjoy your trip there if you go.

Thanks for your birthday wishes for DH.  His daughter called early since she had to work today, and his son called around 4:30.  I was surprised to hear on the radio that the DC Metro is closed down for a safety check tomorrow.  His son said that he will definitely be working from home since he usually takes the Metro to work.

I met a lady from MN at the gym today -- she lives here for six months and there for the other six months.  She is still working, but does everything by cell phone and computer.  Health care consultant, I think.  Anyway, she told me that Homeland Security is monitoring her since she spends eight or nine hours a day on her cell.

DH seemed to have a good day, and we stopped by Safeway on the way home.  His special toothpaste finally arrived.  And, he picked out a piece of chocolate cake for dessert tonight.  I made a lemon pie, but I figured he would prefer cake.  We are going out to Pizza Hut for dinner so he can get a personal pan pizza.  I really like it that he can eat that himself.

Work went okay today -- one volunteer was back, but my buddy was off.  They are having a volunteer appreciation function in April, but spouses are not invited.  Since it is on a Sunday afternoon, I will probably skip it.  But, I guess I could hire a caregiver for a few hours.

Hope both of you have a nice evening and sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: ReFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of March 13

Good morning. Decided not t o do a long drive today...so we are going to take a road up into the mountains to a cute little restaurant. It is a pretty drive and the have good food. Need to run a couple of errands before we go there.

M spotted the gerbil in her bathroom .sydnie and her friend are on the hunt downstairs ...the trap I ordered should come today. If they do not find her, Pepper will.

Linda, hope dh enjoyed his cake. Sounds like he had a good day.

i took my last dose of prednisone this morning so can go in the sun now. It is going to get warmer here.

Claudia, when will R find out what has to be done for his hand and arm???

i will check back after we get home later.

hope you have a good day.

Re: ReFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of March 13

Linda, I'm glad your DH had a good day yesterday. I hope he enjoyed his cake.

Enjoy your road trip, Barbara. I hope the runaway gerbil is found before Pepper arrives and discovers it.

R is at bowling. His appointment next month with the surgeon should give us more info. Meanwhile he's to try to remember not to bend hi,s arm.

I skipped R's bowling today. Early morning I dropped Griff at the groomers and I'm waiting for the call to pick him up. What a circus getting him to the car. Once the dogs realized the car was in the backyard they knew one of them was going somewhere. They all started dancing and leaping. It was difficult getting TT and No out of the kitchen while leaving Griff in the kitchen.

On the way home I stopped at Tractor Supply for more cat food then WM for an electric teakettle Griff knocked our previous one off the counter last night while trying to get the soda bread R had left behind it. The glass didn't break but the handle did.

Never a dull moment here.

Re: ReFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of March 13

Hope you enjoyed your drive, Barbara.  Glad you will be able to go out in the sun soon.  Pretty warm/hot here today -- I like it this way, but I know some people think it is too warm.  Sorry the gerbil is still running around.  Hope Syd can find him before Pepper does.

I do hope that R takes care of himself, Claudia.  You certainly have your hands full with your fur babies.  I can picture the problem you had getting only one dog in the car.  Sorry about the teakettle.

DH enjoyed his dinner pizza and his cake and ice cream afterwards.  The service was slow, but it was okay.  He slept well again last night, and he did okay at day services.

DD loved the Dennis Basso TSV coat I ordered for her birthday, and she wore it today.  All seems to be going well there, thank goodness.  The whole college financing is pretty complicated.  DGS received multiple scholarships -- different amounts from different places.  He also had to apply for three different loans -- total for the year is $5,500, but from three different government loans.  He needed references -- two non-family.  He got the non-family ones from two teachers, one of whom went to the college.

Oldest DGS has very small classes this term -- one has four students and the other six students.  Both are specialty accounting classes.  Hope he does okay in them.

I will be going to lunch at day services tomorrow, and I may drop off DH and take a walk first.  Should be nice.

Have a good evening and sleep well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: ReFORMED SHOPAHOLICS week of March 13

It rained earlier but the sun is out now.

I spent a good portion of the morning checking R's bank account. There were 2 "trial" offers adverised on tv paying only shipping that he signed up for. Unknown to him they put him on auto delivery and this month took out close to $90 each on his debit card. He had to call and cancel both. At least we hope it's cancelled. The so called full refund was only between $30-40 each. Just to be sure he's going to the cu and have his debit card replaced. Arghh.

Tonight the local Italian foods and deli is offering corned beef dinners in honor of St. Patrick's Day. That will be supper tonight.

I'm glad your DD likes her birthday present, Linda.

Griff was so delighted to go home I had to sit down at the groomer's because he started climbing on me. Very nice and fluffy for a few days at least.

Happy St Paddys day🍀🍀🍀  There is no Irish any where in either of our families.

Busy morning...bridge and then a grocery store run. Just got home to sit for a bit before doing some baking.
