I never took my kids shopping with me when I was shopping for clothing or make-up and such, and I wouldn't have them watch a shopping channel with me either. When my grandchildren are around, generally I'm not watching the Q, I'm doing something with them. If they are here spending the night and off doing something on their own and I tune in to the Q and they walk in, they don't even give the tv a second look, it's not interesting to them in the least.

I seriously doubt a single child was emotionally scarred by catching a glimpse of the dancing that takes place once in a while on the Q.

ETA - I find the idea of someone making their small child sit and watch the Q with them a whole lot more troublesome than fully clothed dancing!

My friend was not making her child watch QVC, he was sitting in my living room playing. He wasn't watching TV but heard the loud music come on and that's when he saw Monica shaking her butt. That's when I changed the channel. And I NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT HIM BEING EMOTIONALLY SCARRED. Where do you get this from, really?
If you're not concerned about the effect on the child, then what is the concern? Your own embarrassment?

I can't believe what I'm reading here. Young boys watching QVC? Why would they be interested, dancing or no dancing?

....

It could be the clothes, not the dancing.

Maybe the little boy is interested in becoming a fashion designer when he grows up.

After watching an hour or two of network and cable tv, I would hardly think that anything said or done on QVC could or would offend anyone! Rene's dancing may be silly, but it hardly qualifies as twerking. You can see (and hear) a whole lot worse on night time tv.

Shaking what she has on nationwide tv - Renee is SUPPOSED to be selling clothes.

If I were a Q model I would flat out REFUSE to model her items. THIS IS NOT WHAT I WAS HIRED TO DO ON NATIONWIDE TELEVISION!!!!

NO ONE could PAY me enough money to do that on tv in front of millions.

Apparently those affiliated with WWC want to prove how you can ""move"" in Renee's 14% spandex. It was true Monica's grinding was a little risque last night .... she's young and apparently does not realize she's degrading herself.

I solve the problem for myself by changing the channel whenever I hear/see Renee come on any program. I don't have any kids in the house, just me and since I've tried and don't care for her product or her presentations, I just skip them.

I understand how the OP might not have thought about how it would appear to her son, but if she has been watching QVC long enough to know what WWC presentations include, it might have been better to just switch the channel when she appeared.

I'm not into censorship since other people may enjoy the presentation, I simply choose for myself.

Gina, We might see things differently. I think there is a big leap between censorship and code of conduct.

I have no problem with Renee's dancing, the model's dancing or the hosts dancing.

However, why on earth would a little boy be watching QVC? If I had friends over and they brought their small children over, we wouldn't be sitting around watching QVC.

I totally agree some people just need to find something to pick one dont they

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.
