Designers seem to love and stick with that material.  (Ugh)  Dennis B's latest coat (black or pink) looks like a bathrobe.......and it's quilted.

As much as the designers try to make them stylish, they still end up looking like sleeping bags.  But, you can't beat them for keeping you warm in frigid weather!

I have an LLBean long coat, as well as a short jacket, quilted and very thin, but very warm.  They are amazingly warm and you don’t look like a polar bear.  I sometimes wear a MK heavier quilted jacket, with a quilted hood.

Those coats I saw for sale would only look good on someone very thin, in my opinion.

My favorite coat of all time was a coat lined with thinsulate.

it is difficult to find this lining and i don't understand why manufacturers don't use it.

Warm when you are outside; cool when inside. I never overheated in it!

@LTT1

LandsEnd has a Primaloft that's similar to Thinsulate.

They are functional, they are meant to keep those us who get winter weather warm and dry.   When it's 18 degrees outside and sleeting and you are trudging from the commuter station to your office....you don't care about looking cute.

To me they always look like the Michellin Man, but you can't beat them for warmth and comfort......I have one that I have had for several years, and it is so nice when our Wisconsin Winters get really really cold and the wind is howling.....
