I have both fabrics, for different purposes. I have cheap cotton tees and costly workout leggings.  Pretty sure they are going to get you one way or the other.

Just for the heck I looked at wholesale:  cotton $8 to &12    Poly $6 to $10

Weight and construction must make part of the cost.

I am ok with a very small percentage of poly, nylon or spandex. Other than that good cotton and I will pay for it. I don't buy many clothes I don't need.

I will take a good quality polyester over cheap cotton.  As another poster pointed out, there are different grades of polyester, just as there are different grades of cotton.  I wear both.  I like the ease of  care with polyester, and for travel and stuffing it into the suitcase it can't be beat.

For my work out shirts I prefer cotton with substance, not the see through kind of cotton that is so plentiful out in the stores.

I agree!

Cotton  is my favorite material, especially in the summer, it breaths i know it fades if one is not careful.

When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.

There's polyester and then there's polyester!

Some fabrics are better than others.

I do a lot of layering ... and poly is a nice slippery fabric for the under layer.

What I don't like and try to avoid is overly stretchy fabric.  SPANDEX is the  fiber I avoid.

I won't buy anything that is shown to "stretch and recover"  anything with so much spandex that you don't need to wear a shaper.

@chrystaltree  @Pezzie   The Isaac Pima Cotton are quite substantial and my favorite for workout and every day tees....Just hang or lay flat to dry!!!

I am one that believes that polyester has in some cases improved over the years.I like SG's item in the spring and fall. It depends on the items--tank tops and short sleeved items are comfortable in the summer. I do find pants too cold in thewinter of her brand.

For cotton lovers HQ is having a free shipping day on fashion items totaling $50.+ I bought a lot of Christopher & Banks 100% cotton items. Read charts carefully on that brand as they are not vanity sized. I found a lot of $10. items/sweaters.
