Polyester and more polyester

It's getting ridiculous how many items are polyester now, so sick of it. Granted, sometimes it's made pretty soft like in Cuddl Duds, but now it's in everything. Where's the cotton? I hardly buy anything here anymore, way expensive and nothing but polyester. Don't know how these hosts can get excited about the same stuff over and over. Yawn.

@KittySoftPaws   Cost of cotton is way up.  See the prices of denim jeans lately?  Polyester is more reasonable and they're trying to hold a sellable price point.  Better get used to it; you're looking at the future.

Re: Polyester and more polyester

I shop for cotton garments elsewhere. Found some very nice 100% cotton tees and shirts at Walmart for practically nothing. I was surprised by the quality so I went back and bought more.

Re: Polyester and more polyester

I totally agree.  I hate polyester and anything with a blend with polyester.  They will never convince me it is great.   Polyester is cheap, ugly and uncomfortable for me.  I am learning to shop elsewhere based on suggestions from folks here.  So sad that it uses to be fun, easy and reliable to shop here.

I don't really care if the cost of cotton has gone up, although I did a search on that and it seems it has been in the same range of price for years. There are other factors as well.  I am will to pay for what I want ( ex: Stan Herman cotton chenille zip robe comes to mind)   and QVC should cater to all of their customers.

Re: Polyester and more polyester

Poly and poly blend and synthetic is way cheaper so that's why the companies are all going to them!

I used to get the nicest sleepwear that was a nice cotton and cotton blend and for really good prices.  Now, it's all this poly junk that retains the heat and moisture and picks easily.  I hate it!  If you do find cotton and cotton blend, it's so darn expensive, you can't even afford it!

Same thing with clothing!

Guess I'm in the minority here. I love a poly-cotton blend over 100 percent cotton. If a shirt or other item of clothing is all cotton, I won't buy it. Except for towels or socks.

I don’t like to see so much polyester.  It’s not healthy and it’s starting to creep into everything.  I buy most of my cotton clothing at LL Bean and Lands’ End, although I’m finding some good things at Jockey too.  I’m always searching for companies that sell cotton clothing.  I’ve been on a search for cotton bras which used to be more prevalent.  It’s concerning that cotton items are becoming a thing of the past.

I don't mind polyester.  The last time I bought cotton Tshirts they had to be ironed before I could wear them.  I won't  buy anything that is 100% cotton.

@tototwo if you're in the minority, so am I.  I dislike all cotton.  I don't want to have to iron and steam my clothing before I wear it every time.  I like the feel of polyester and polyester blends.
