Good Morning/Afternoon! Hope the weather is okay wherever you live, and you are staying safe. I know some areas are still having problems with power outages, etc. Jean let me know that her pipes are frozen for the first time since she has owned her house. Hope that they thaw out soon.
It is another warm, sunny day here -- started off in the mid 30's with a high of 75 degrees predicted. It should be nice again tomorrow, but then we are expecting rain for several days and much cooler temperatures. Oh well....
The good news is that my oldest DGS, wife, and tiny dog were able to use another family member's frequent flyer miles to travel to Maryland -- they are taking a "red eye" flight this evening, and should be there tomorrow. And, their flight to visit DD and family in SC is back on. Also, DH's DD called yesterday and said she and her younger daughter made it to New York City on Christmas Eve. It is very cold there, but they are doing fine.
I have nothing exciting planned for today. I am getting excited about my air fryer that should arrive by Saturday. Hope that it is useful for me.
Glad you had a nice, if quiet Christmas, Glenda. I know Susan is hosting a family open house today. Hope that goes well.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone has a nice evening. Please post if you have a chance.
Hugs,
Linda

Update -- Jean was able to get her water flowing after using a hair dryer.

Linda L, I am so glad that your dgs, wife and little dog will be able to get to their destination. It's not too cold here and we got another 2" of light fluffy snow overnight. I am not looking forward to 40's & rain starting on Thursday thru Sunday. I am glad that Jean got her pipes thawed out.
Susan, I hope that your open house was a good one. We are supposed to be going to an open house this week which was cancelled last week because of the snow & cold weather. This is the lady that decorates 40 Christmas trees. I hope it's on Thursday as we have friends coming on Wednesday afternoon to play cards. Haven't seen them since the pandemic started.
I returned my dh's mugs and got one from Wal-Mart. It's got a life time warranty & keeps cold drinks cold for 18 hours. We shall see. Then we went to Dollar Tree and saw nothing that we needed, but I got nice compliments at both stores on my DB coat that I bought from our Bargain Spot store 3 years ago right before we went on shut down for $50 because it was missing the hood. It's the ivory lynx reversible coat that I almost bought for my birthday for $125.00.
Hugs to all of you.
Glenda

Hi Linda @LindaLatte
I'm glad that Jean was able to free up her pipes. The temps were really severe over the weekend. I'm glad that all of your family members were able to travel safely to their destinations.
Our temps made it into the low 20's and it actually felt warm to me as compared to Friday through Sunday. ![]()

Hi Glenda @twinny70
Like you and Linda, I hope that Susan's open house went well.
We're expecting a few days of rain and spring like temps (50's) later this week. My heart goes out to DPW (department of public works) employees as the water mains are already having issues and breaking and the drastic warm up is only going to make it worse.

LindaLatte--Glad to hear that your family were able to get revised travel arrangements. What a relief. No fun to be stranded in the airport during the winter (or any month).
I hope Susan's open house went well.
I hope you are as pleased with your air fryer as I am with mine. I find that I use it multiple times a week especially when I'm really short on time to get a meal on the table.
It's still very cold and windy here with snow and some ice. The wind speed has lessen so that's good. It looks like the house is still in tact from the wind and snow. Good thing we got the new improvements when we did. I'm not sure the old roof and siding would have tolerated these gusts. It's always a guessing/timing issue when it comes to home improvements.

twinny70---I would love to see 40 trees around the house, etc. I can't imagine the amount of time to put all of those decorations back into storage. Somehow it seems that the take down takes more time than the initial decorating part. At least to me it does. I may keep our trees, etc. up one more week this year. The outside lights and decorations I just turn off until the weather is nicer to break everything down.
It sounds like you found a great mug. 18 hours is a new record for cold drinks. I hope it works well for your hubby.
You have the best luck finding the bargain of the year with your shopping trips. What a steal. I don't think you can go wrong with a DB coat/jacket. They last and last and always look nice no matter the age.

Good Evening! We had another nice day, but we are expecting much cooler and rainy weather starting tomorrow. Hope the rain doesn't cause too many problems in your area, Bernie. I heard that it is supposed to warm up in Buffalo later in the week, and they are concerned about flooding when four feet plus of snow melts. Yikes!
I don't know if DGS and his wife made it to Maryland or not since DD had not heard from them when we talked. Hopefully, they did. By the way, they were one of the many affected by the problems with Southwest. Now they are using Delta instead.
Yesterday, I spent quite a while going through old tax records and shredding a lot of them. My shredder overheated five times, and I filled three large garbage bags with the shredding results. Not a fun way to spend the day, but I am glad I did it since we had trash pick-up today.
Most of the other volunteers were not at the senior lunch program today, so I spent more time than usual chopping, etc. Fortunately, there were not as many people as the last time since the lettuce supply was quite low. I barely managed to serve everyone who wanted to have the salad bar.
Hope you are able to go to the open house, Glenda. I can't imagine putting up that many trees. As Fressa said, you certainly find some wonderful bargains. Hope the new mug works for your DH.
Glad your house wasn't damaged by the storm, Fressa.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda
