Re: Please use numeric sizing on jeans.

I am better  off with the way they list now.  And I do not  buy in stores.  Petites are not readily available.

I wear both. Both are readily available. It’s good to have choices.

I always assumed it was easier for jeans manufacturers to make lettered sizes because they would need fewer different sizes and fewer shapes.  Easier for them, but lettered sizing doesn't fit me.

I also prefer numbered sizes with options for short, regular, or tall.

Jean companies don't do them.  Some like Gap & Old Navy.  But the the others like Rag & Bone, 3X1, Frame, J Brand, etc.  all user waist size. I just know my waist size.  Never have any trouble with an ill fitting jean. Waist size is the ratio between waist and hip. Also I always have zipper and button closure.  I won't buy jeans that have elastic waist.  I don't wear this pull on stuff.

@songbird, I don't understand this. When I measure my waist, I just measure my waist.

@suzyQ3   They use a formula.  I don't what it is.  Just measure your wasit.  It the same deal with men's pants.  They are by waist size also.  Like this

RECCOMENDEDJEAN SIZE YOUR WAISTMEASUREMENT YOUR HIPMEASUREMENT

2324"-25½"33½-36
2425"-26½"36"-37"
2526"-27"37"-38"
2626½"-27½"37½"-39"
2727½"-28½"38½"-40"
2828"-30"40"-41½"
2929½"-32"41"-43"
3031½"-33"43"-44"
3132"-34"44"-46"
3233"-35½"46"-47"
3335"-38"47"-48"
3437½"-39½"48"-49"

That's not for Citizens but for Imogene & Willie.  Just measure your waist. Most jeans have stretch in them.
