I bought my first GILI items recently - the crewneck t-shirts. I was so impressed with how substantial they are, I went back for doubles in certain staple colors (navy and white). They aren't the cheaper price t-shirts you'll find at Kohls or Target, but I am very impressed with the fit and the fabric. A298277

I've never been a huge Target clothing fan. I've always thought the sizing was wonky and many of the clothing items were overpriced for this being a "mart" store although periodically they'd have some bargains. However, the few things I have bought from them have held up amazingly well. The clothing department has definitely been morphing into better stuff than they had years ago.
@Kachina624, I pretty much said the same thing in a thread last week about that LOGO TSV. It seems modal is the fabric of the day to tout as being high-end so now they can charge more for it.

@Desert Lily wrote:When I was in Target earlier this spring, they were in the process of completely revamping the women's apparel department. I live on the west coast. They used to carry 100% cotton, and perhaps some of their items still are. However, I checked the label before I bought these tees because they were so soft and then rechecked them before I posted. In fact, the cotton portion is "pima cotton." Their website probably has them.
I love pima cotton. It is so cool to the touch.

If you want to buy inexpensive tees that wash and wear great, go to Wal-Mart and look at the Faded Glory brand. Everything I've ever bought in that brand has worn like iron, including my DH's jeans!

@Texasmouse 2 years ago I did buy the Faded Glory long sleeve thermal henleys. I still have in every color, wore them every weekend in the winter. They were so cheap too but good quality.

I like modal blends for layering. For me most of the modal pieces are too thin to wear alone. I love pajamas and around-the-house lounge pieces made of modal and modal blends...so comfy.![]()

I just received a Macy's order today, one of the items was a navy Tommy Hilfiger t shirt that I got for 9 dollars and change. It's 95% rayon, 5% elastane.
I prefer rayon to cotton. Too often for me 100% cotton t shirts are wrinkly and boxy and bag out. I do like the cotton tees I have from Costco and Lands End. The rayon tees are perfect for layering under something. When I try to do that with a cotton tee it bunches up and it's just all kinds of wrong and annoying.

I need a t shirt with a sleeve that comes almost to my elbow. or a 3/4 sleeve if it's not too hot. I don't like the tops of my arms to show too much if I'm going to work or somewhere I want to look nice. Discount shirts rarely have a long enough sleeve for me however I got four from Chicos Off the Rack for $13.00 each free shipping. These will hold me for awhile.

I like Target's new brand, A New Day.
