Plaid ... still a matching problem

Recently I heard Gary boast that D&Co matches plaids at the seams

Perhaps now he could learn how to cut and place pockets so that they also line up.

This is the only individual color picture - but check the video - the pockets look terrible!

Re: Plaid ... still a matching problem

@ALRATIBA Side seams on pants that don't match really bother me; side seams on tops and blouses I do want matched at the bottom up to and above the waist line.    Those pockets don't bother me at all.

I did hear Gary say their side seams match, and I know they do on the one plaid D&C blouse I have.

@ALRATIBA       That's  AWFUL!

Some designers will cut the plaid fabric on the bias for pockets as an "accent".....but THIS is truly unsightly for $60 ....di

The plaid pattern on the collar is not symmetrical either. I used to sew plaid garments and that was a peeve of mine.

It 's all in the eye of the beholder -- I think that the "unmatched"Smiley Tongueocket adds a bit of interest and breaks up the broad spash of plaid a bit.

@Desertdi

I bought three Tolani plaid shirts (on sale) ... all seams matched, pockets were set at an "attractive" angle, and even the CUFFS also matched.

@Q-Checker

True .... and I'm absolutely obsessive about matching plaids /patterns.

My mother sent me to learn to sew as a teenager ... this kind of mismatch stuff really, really, really bothers me.  No way I'd ever buy much less wear anything like that.

It looks "junky."

Re: Plaid ... still a matching problem

for those who learned to sew this could be a deal breaker however all these garments are made by the 1000s, unrealistic to expect they are matching the seams

I don't care for Gary, I bet any one of us could sit at home and show the same pieces on tv and do a better, and more interesting perhaps, job of it! Smiley Happy

Re: Plaid ... still a matching problem

I doubt that you could do that at all. Some you gave a lot of imput on sewing of Plaid but none of mention how much material you have to use to achive it. I find it interesting how we cretique things to justify not purchasing an item. None of hardly ever been a designer but to say you don't like someone you hardly know personally is a bit strange to. Gary is a designer and has been for years and the thing is why as adults do we say these about people is beyond me. I hope you know that if they really cared about how you feel about them, finding you is really easy on the internet.
