I ordered a D&Co. knit top and a $40 ring. My order status showed they were sent by post office and out for delivery. Later I get a notice that I was not home to receive the packages so I have to go to the post office to pick them up. Never happened to me before. You?

The postal worker can make the call whether they will leave the package. For some reason they decided not to. Maybe you had a fill-in carrier who doesn't like to leave packages.

If you can't pick it up, call the post office and see if they will deliver it again. If you don't have to sign for it, they should deliver it whether you're home or not!

It could be weather related. If your order doesn't fit in your mailbox, the carrier can put it on your porch, or take it back to the post office. Was there too much snow or ice in the path? Maybe it was just too cold to get out of the truck!

When we built our house I had a very large box built into a brick post. It actually can hold 2 shoe boxes! Of course this means I have to brave the weather myself instead of finding stuff up at my door. LOL

Edited to add that maybe the carrier is aware that gold is now being delivered from QVC. Perhaps he/she recognized a box delivery and didn't want to leave it at the box. I'm sure thieves are aware of the gold deliveries too.

That's the first that I've heard of that happening. Pretty soon, you'll have to pay to drive to the Q headquarters and pick it up yourself. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Your notice should have a number to call for re-delivery. If theres no #, then just call your local postoffice and tell them you want it re-delivered. They definitely will deliver the package the day after you call. I have done this when I wasn't home and I never had to go pick up any package.

No, never heard of this before- Do you live on he East Coast? With all of the snow that we have & frigid temps, maybe the mail carrier didn't feel that it should be left outdoors?????

Happens here all the time if they can't get to your mailbox (rural boxes are at the street here---not far at all---but not at the front door)easily. If snow makes it necessary for them to get out of the postal truck (not UPS) they will have you do a pick up---or if no one is home to sign for an item that is expensive or alcoholic or has insured or registered mailing.

Thieves don't care what it is. They just take all unattended packages. It's an epidemic. Security cameras don't deter them.

I hate it when my orders show up drunk.
