Add an eye patch, a short jacket and a stuffed parrot and you have your next Halloween outfit!

My petti pants didn't look like these.

@Carmie & @We rescue cats  I wore petti pants under my dresses too as a child. They were satin (or satiny), & I used to love them.

They weren't as long as those in the pic

A return to The Roaring Twenties!

If I was a clothing designer, I would have brought back the swimming costumes from the 1920's, the ones with the shorts and ruffles.  Some of them had a real 'art deco' style to them.

That's one of the funniest pieces of clothing I've ever seen.  Great for those who want to be victims of ridicule and need attention.

Thanks for the laugh @Puzzle Piece and @Desertdi for the picture. It speaks a 1000 words.

And to think I was questioning my choice to wear a Stan Herman cotton shift dress to my massage appointment today. Not only for ease of disrobing and coming right home, but my cute sandals needed dusting off. All my bits and bobs were covered. LOL

I have a picture of my mom and her sister at the beach wearing bathing suits like the top photo of the striped old timey swim suit.  Must've been taken in the mid-1930's when she was a teenager.  Yes, they really did wear those swim suits.

War is not a video game others play to entertain us. “Gamifying” war strips away the humanity of real people and is a profound moral failure.

Yes, they did!

Some of them were really pretty styles, and as I said were art deco.  Even though they covered most of the body, they still showed off the shape.

And this was when women were actually first being allowed to go bathing at the seaside!  LOL
