@sunshine45  These are not at all high-waters.

These that Ms Laura is sporting are very classic ankle pants which I love. and enjoy wearing.

Wow, I haven't heard the term "high waters" in years! My friends and I in our younger years had a song about those pants. It was usually a  friend that had grown and now the pants were too short. I remember my bestie grew very quickly and she always had problems with pants and skirts. To this day she is six feet tall and she has her pants and skirts custom made for her!

actually @PINKdogWOOD i dont think ANY pant length is a "high water" anymore.....because pretty much anything goes these days, hence the numerous names for all lengths of pants/shorts.

i think she looks great in them, but if i had worn those to school during the 1970s, they would have teased me for having "high waters" on.

At 5 feet tall Ankle length pants are perfect for me.

Since I DON'T  have nice ankles or legs, I'll let others wear the short pants.  However, I could wear the light colored pants length, also with flats.  They really don't even show the ankle.  Someone would be saying something about sausage casings if I wore those jeans on the right and they would be correct.  Doesn't matter how much they stretch to fit.  QVC are you listening? If there's horizontal wrinkling, they're too small/tight even if there's stretch.  Don't care for the wide lieg pants at that length on the left.

I found this Pants Pattern.  Year: 1955

I guess this ankle style has indeed been around for a lot of years.

Well as far as I'm concerned for people like me I look like a stork

with wide pants....meaning skinny ankles.  Ridiculous for my shape but YAY for many with petite.

Yes!!  I have a picture of my mom in a similar outfit and it was taken in the es.                   In the early 50s.   When I was a kid, the mom's dressed like this.

I think they are here to stay also.  But, I don't really care as I will continue to wear.  I have always liked wide leg pants and owned them.  I have long thin legs with no hips so they hang well.  I wore CitiKnits for years.
