I don't think I've ever heard Lady Gaga sound like this before. I'm not sure what my opinion is yet.

Re: Oscars --- Who is watching?

I have watched the whole thing so far and think it is okay. I thought the opening was very done and liked thought the NPH underwear sequence was funny. But if you didn't see Birdman you miss the joke. (For Best Pic I am rooting for The imitation Game.)

Re: Oscars --- Who is watching?

I just texted my daughter that these people stand up there and go on and on. They should be using their money toward educating these young black men, giving them incentives to get an education.

Oprah opened a school for African girls. Why didn't she open a school for girls and boys here? They don't put their money where their mouth is.

There are a few who do. It goes a lot further if John Legend, Common, Oprah and others talk to young men and women on how to get ahead in life. That's what makes change.

That's the kind of things I used to listen to Dr. King talk about. I remember all of it.

You want to do something? Take some young people to a counter or bathroom. Tell them their black friends wouldn't be able to join them because they are black, only because they are black.

Take a group of kids and divide them up, blondes here, brown hair there. No, can't be near each other due to different hair color.

Things like that make an impression. Entire generations are growing up thinking, "What's the big deal? I can eat with my black friends"? They don't show TV shows like Roots anymore.

I did these things with my grandchildren. I wanted them to know what it used to be like when I was growing up. For the record. I'm caucasian. I also lived in a neighborhood that was all white and one person sold to a black person and everyone moved out and I lived there with my family. I was called names and chased. It was terrible.

I have taught my daughters 'trash comes in all colors'.

Instead of just talking. Make a difference. It starts with educating your own children (every color) and making them understand.

I'm far from a 'bleeding heart' this is just what I believe. That's what equal rights is about. Educating our young people and making them learn life is not easy but if you work hard you will get the rewards.

I'll shut up and go to bed now.

I am really tired of all of the political statements being made. I really thought that Hollywood would've stopped it by now. And, btw, I think that we all realize that that statement made by Patricia Arquette was made for ALL women . Duh! I am just waiting for the big categories to be announced. I keep switching the station to better programming. This is really an awful presentation.

I could not agree with you more! Have just been going back and forth and really only want to see the last few awards. I am surprised that Lady GaGa actually looks normal and beautiful.....and Julie Andrews looks great! What a nice surprise. I detest the political comments many of these people feel compelled to give when they get in front of a microphone.....not he time or place.

I would have like this movie a lot more if it gave you a better picture of the love story between the two. I didn't see much of the husband and wifes relationship. Yes, I know that they loved each other, but it their story didn't emotionally hook me into it.

Re: Oscars --- Who is watching?

I can't believe what an excellent job Lady Gaga did on the Sound of Music...what a voice....so unexpected ....probably the best moment in the whole boring show...and meeting Julie Andrews, emotional
