Re: O/T: I really should be running errands today, but...

Most Saturdays this whole winter were rest days for me. I, too, feel guilty and have to justify it to myself. I think of the 10 commandments and tell myself, if its in the Commandments, its good enough for me.

Good one, GrailSeeker!

Don't you just hate to make special trips? If you can kill two birds with one stone, I'm for that.

On the other hand, don't put off tomorrow what you can do today.

When you work all week it is no wonder you just want to spend time enjoying your home.I think you earned it.

I love a pajama day! I retire early on April 30, I work 40 hrs a week, plus 2 -6 hour Saturday's each month. I'm tired! In my Jammie's right now, knitting and dreading grocery shopping, laudry and back to work tomorrow. One day off is not enough, cannot wait till its done! Don't feel guilty, we need it. Enjoy

Re: O/T: I really should be running errands today, but...

maddiecat, first of all, hello. I run my life like that. I make up lists and lists and then I even get dressed and think, "I just want to stay home" and I do undress and stay home.

My friend often calls me for lunch or dinner and that gets me out of the house. I have so many Drs appts, etc I need to do but I just love being home (don't do much, just like being home).

I do go out when my daughter fusses because I was supposed to deliver something to her days ago.

I think for some Mother Nature just says "slow down if you want to". The key is to not give up, don't overdo it but enjoy life. Don't feel like you HAVE to do something, unless you REALLY do have to do it. I haven't worked in over 40 years and don't intend to start at the age of almost 70. I pick and chose what I want to do.

My guess is that many of us do.

Sometimes it's hard getting me out on the weekend after a long workweek. I try to run errands during the week at lunch time. If I have to run errands on Saturday, I'm up and out no later than 8am. I make a list with my stops, so I don't zig zag around town. I usually can get them done in and hour because the stores are empty.

I had the same feeling on Friday. I was going to run errands after work, but I was so tired and it was raining so I just went home. I decided the errands could wait - still haven't done them.

I have days like that. I really like to stay home one day on the weekend & do my running around the other day. It rarely works out that way. Once in a blue moon I get to stay home both days.

I do enjoy getting together with friends & doing things but I love my stay at home days.
