O/T Check Your Returns Statements

I wasn't quite sure where to post this, but feel Fashion Talk gets a lot of visitors.

I recently returned an item under QVC's holiday timeline and in checking the postcard sent with refund info, I noticed something was wrong. I was not credited with my original S&H fee. I wondered if the Q's policy had changed, so I called to inquire No policy change, they made a mistake and will credit my Visa account with the original S&H charges. A word to the wise -- check your statements and call if something doesn't seem quite right!!!

Re: O/T Check Your Returns Statements

Yes, same thing happened to me also. I recently returned multiple items under the extended holiday return policy. Noticed several were "short credited". Called CS, and the rep was great. Told me that the Q computer system did not recognize the holiday extended time for returns for 2 out of my 5 returns-all returned in one carton-which resulted in the short credits, aged b/c it was past 30 days from purchase date. No problem-she issued the 2 additional credits, took about 5 min on the phone.

Hmm, this is not good. I will definitely keep an eye on this. Thanks for letting us know.

But then I say to myself ""Really...I have to monitor this!""

Yes, you have to monitor this and everything else if you want to keep things honest. If I didn't check my orders, I would have been out $12.97 S&H. Better in my pocket than someone else's.

I totally get you. I just think really - why do I have to make sure they aren't over-charging me? But I for sure will have to check everything now.

Re: O/T Check Your Returns Statements

I learned a long time ago that sadly YES, I have to monitor them like a hawk.

Same thing happened to me w/ holiday returns...even though I stuck HUGE notes on the packing slip with the return.

They also mess up ALL the time and short me the return label cost (usually $6.95) in my refund even though I PAID for the return postage myself!!!???!!!! I have their label still in my hands! I having been checking everything for 2 years now. Pathetic I should have to do that.

Agree - and don't check just QVC's statements. Check everything financial everywhere - even someone suggested last week your grocery receipts. I recovered $2 last week.

Usually the mistakes are small and the result of human errors, but those same humans can make huge errors, too. We've all read about million dollar errors because they make the news. Biggest error I ever saw on any of my own statements was for over $200,000! It was corrected, but I've kept the proof documents for over a decade now almost as a laugh.

That money was never mine, but it sure made for a few minutes of fantasy!

Re: O/T Check Your Returns Statements

I keep a little chart and write down everything I send back to the Q and elsewhere. Date sent, store, item, price to be refunded. It takes a little time, but I have caught errors many times.

On another note, I sent back 3 jewelry items that were received by the Q on the 17th. Nothing showing up yet under my returns. Turnaround time coming and going is really slow compared to other vendors.

So true millie!

When the bank ATM switched away from the old envelopes and deposit slips...I deposited a rebate check of $3.97 directly into that slot. They credited my account for a deposit of $14,120.97 !! (which is my zip code and the first 2 digits of the extended zip code). Obviously the silly machine read the wrong bar code!

After much time and 4 phone calls..they finally fixed it. Then had the nerve to charge ME a $35 bank fee! LOL Got that fixed too....but oh boy....watch every thing!
