New jeans - chemical odor - how best to remove?

Recently got some new jeans and really like them; however, they have a strong chemical odor to them.  I read some info online as to how to remove the odor.

Firstly, is it really formaldehyde that gives that odor?

And there was mention of white vinegar or baking soda helping.

Has anyone successfully removed the scent, and what did you use?

Thanks!

@Julie_23   Any good industrial strength odor remover ought to do it.  I use Don Aslett's XOXO which I get at Amazon.  I spray lightly, let dry. Spray again, let dry then wash as usual.  Odor is completely gone.

Neither vinegar nor baking soda will get it out.

I refuse to wear jeans that come with that chemical odor and have returned a few for that reason.

It's obviously toxic and goes right into my skin even trying them on.  It lingers....But that's just me.  I can't take it....makes me sick. Cat Mad

It was  black jeans that always had that horrible smell and NOTHING I found did anything to get rid of it--I don't buy black jeans anymore unless it is in person so I can sniff them first---I gave many pairs away-----

@Kachina624    Honestly, I have never had an issue getting any odor out of my clothes.  Most of that odor comes from clothing being shipped in those containers from whatever country them sitting in plastic bags in the warehouses.   None of the odors should be permanent.   I realize some people may be extra sensitive to odors and smells, but I highly doubt it is toxic,   That makes no sense to sell clothing with toxic chemicals

I have not found anything that removes that chemical odor.  If you buy a pair of jeans with that odor, wash them one time.  If the smell is still there, return them.  It will never go away.
