Where do you live? It matters for this question! If you live in Buffalo, wear hose and a different pair of shoes, closed toe pumps.

If you live in Miami, no hose and the sandals are fine.

The old rule of not wearing hose with open toes is dead. People that say that are not up on the trends. It is now considered fashionable to wear hose with open toes. The rule is that they need to have sheer toes, not the toes with the visibly reinforced toes. I always wear pantyhose, even with sandals. I prefer nude sheer or just a slight tan shade with a hint of color. Looks like a soft tan. My legs are pale so i like a little tan color for my hose. I think you definitely should wear hose, sheer ones. Very classy and elegant plus makes legs look smooth and silky. When in doubt, wear hose. Always appropriate, especially for evening time.
