Need Your Help With Sizing

Can anyone give me some help with sizing? I want to purchase some new cardigan sweaters and am looking at some Bob Mackie, Susan Graver, and Denim and Co. sweaters. I have found that size large fits perfectly in Quacker Factory but have NO idea what size to try in any other brand. What has been your experience with how the sizing compares in different brands? I really don't want to have to send them back due to incorrect sizing. Thanks for your help!
