even with the lace the dress is modest.. the lace has that center seam,  is dense, does not  read sexy imo and the short sleeves keep it conservative if the sleeves were lace or it had cap sleeves or was sleeveless and the neckline was cut lower it would look more cocktail/evening.   just my take... ymmv

 

btw that dress also comes in a deep blue shade
