Re: MY LOCAL MACYS IS CLOSING

I'm so sorry for you.  I love Macy's!  It's my go to store.  I have bought lamps there (online) since all lighting stores seem to have closed, bedding, Fiesta dishware, and clothes, clothes, clothes.  I live a 5 minute drive from mine, so I can order some things online and not worry about making a huge trip to return items.  Their sales are terrific and I get so many wonderful brands of clothes and shoes.  I hope you find a replacement Macy's.

Re: MY LOCAL MACYS IS CLOSING

The saddest thing, @wagirl, is that another once-glorious retailer is closing.  We had a beautiful Macy's downtown that was my go-to store.  I worked downtown and spent my lunch hours at Macy's.  Then it closed and re-opened later at the mall.  And then it went downhill from there.  Our mall Macy's died a long, slow death.

Now our mall is dying ...... which is a whole other thread.

Re: MY LOCAL MACYS IS CLOSING

Our entire local mall is horrendous.  I'm not sure how in the world it stays open.  It used to be one of the few malls with 4 anchor stores.  Dillards, Sears, Macy and Penneys.

Dillards closed first years ago. Then Macy's left followed by Sears.  I suspect the entire mall will be gone shortly.  It's almost scary to go inside because it's so desolate.

About 30 minutes to the east of me and 40 minutes to the south of me are really nice malls.  Both have Dillards and Macys that are bigger and better than the stores that were closest to me.  But it was nice to be able to "run" to my mall back in the day.  Now I have to take the turnpike to get to one mall and the other, although only 40 minutes away, is a pain to get to.
