The Side Stitch brand sold on QVC uses that fabric as a selling point for their garments.  I have heard hosts say it is "proprietary" to Side Stitch.  Then, every once-in-a-while, another brand of clothing will say their items are made of the same fabric. Side Stitch items are very high-priced. However, I am very suspicious of their claims that they are the only company with that fabric. Just who can you believe, right?

@maximillian   It's very possible somebody doesn't know what "proprietary" means.

Found via google:

Lyocell, modal and TENCEL are all cellulose based fibres. Lyocell and modal fibres in general are considered as regenerated fibres – fibres that come from a natural cellulose source, but use chemicals or solvents to dissolve the cellulose into a pulp, and may be extruded or spun to be regenerated into a fibre.

Something I bought from Lands End "recently" (could be months ago!) had Tencel tags.

Modal has been around for years.

I think the (QVC) C Wonder shirts I bought are also Tencel.

Whatever - they are all a form of rayon ... nice fabrics - works for me!

@maximillian @Kachina624 The company that owns Side Stich or EMJ Apparel Group or Bella Dahl owns the trademark for Tencera which is a proprietary type of fabric and wash treatment of Tencel which is a registered trademark of I don't know who yet. Lyocell was originally trademarked as Tencel in 1982.  To find this company, I had to jump through some real hoops. Side Stich is part of EMJ Apparel which owns Bella Dahl which is what looks like a brand they sell the clothes under. Bella Dahl clothing is for sale at many upscale stores, Nordstrom's for example.The website for Bella Dahl does not function correctly. They are registered as a business in L.A. They have quite a few trademarks. If you look up Tencera you can get more information. Expect a wild goose chase with this.

I bought this 100% lyocell shirt from Walmart (Time and Tru brand). Long sleeves with roll-tabs. Launders nicely, no shrinkage. Just take it out of the dryer a little damp and hang it. Looks great just like that but if you want it to look a bit more neat then just iron it. I don't b/c I like the casual vibe. $17 Other colors under the same item. I own a few of them.

@SilleeMee

Looks like a good casual shirt you would get a lot of wear from, at about 10 % of what Side Stitch would charge.  Good catch.

The IM pants I bought on LTS pricing this morning has lyocell in them. I've always wondered why Side Stitch is so expensive as I don't think lyocell is so hard to find in clothing 🤔

@Midmod  I bought those pants last year in two colors, one full price and one on sale.  You're going to love them.  The Side Stitch fabric is more beefy than many lyocell items I have seen.  I do like the Side Stitch material.
