QVC just a few days ago applied for the trademark G.I.L.I. with the classification of jewelry only under this trademark.
Their last application was GILI (no periods) and the classification of goods was jewelry, handbags, skirts, blouses, denim, etc. Another company opposed that filing and Q abandoned the application.
Based on that application, it would appear if GILI continues, it will be only jewelry. Perhaps they are going to merge the handbags, clothing and other accessories into another line or change the name.
another company opposed the filing ? Can this mean another Network opposed the filing as if to attempt to take it over and re launch ? The filing thing always confuses me
Another company (any other company, not necessarily another shopping network) may have opposed that QVC trademark filing because it might have been similar to or the same as one of their trademarks. It may not even be in a similar product line, just the trademark symbol.
It had nothing to do with another network. It was a B&M store who opposed the application and there was another opposition filed that would have been heard if this first opposer wouldn't have gotten the app. nullified.
I don't want to list the company because I'm afraid it will get this thread poofed.
Because the name GILI was to similar to the B&M store or the "product line" was similar?
I see..ok understand Thank you

Maybe she'll move out to the Bay Area and begin a new venture or adventure with Leslie

Did not see any comments about her leaving since the original statement. I still think she wanted more money, and QVC refused. Just my opinion, with the track record so far, all who left are doing infomercials . , remember Patti Reilly moving to LA to be a star, she does pillow spots. My question how many pictures a day does she take of herself....someone made a comment about a stepmother when did that happen? Thought her mother recently died.
I didn't know her dad had remarried either, but on her QVC Blog under her vacation post, she has a picture of her Dad (celebrating his birthday) and she wrote this...
My dad and his wife Murleen came in the last evening and we all celebrated my dad's birthday a little early. I hope l take after him, because he looks amazing! Thank you for all your birthday wishes. I know he really enjoyed them.

All made even more interesting because per Google, there is a Gili (spelled that way) line of jewelry not associated with the Q... I also see where a first extension for use of the Trademark G.I.L.I. was granted in July and while the heading was for jewelry, the full document appears to also include clothing, footwear, headgear and leather goods... Very curious as to the entity that opposed the earlier spelling. A hint in the way of a URL to the item should be safe to post... I couldn't find the October filing, but that would clearly modify earlier filings and approvals.

I've seen several references to a stepmother... I too thought it seemed to happen pretty quickly, but I guess it is what it is and really, none of my business. I believe her mom passed away back in 2009...

I'm guessing that I was possibly on target when I previously posted that she just might want to take a well-deserved break.

That extension was granted for G.I.L.I. Got It Love It. That is registered for jewelry, clothing, handbags, etc.
The one for a jewelry only classification was just filed by QVC on Oct. 9. I don't know why they would do both with jewelry unless they are going to cancel the older filing?
I don't know. We get these notifications at work regarding trademarks/names, servicemarks, etc. I happened to notice this new filing.

I wish Lisa the best in her future endeavors. I am sure that she will be successful in any career. She will be missed by the QVC viewers. She is really good at what she was hired to do and that is sell. Everyone has a speculation about her future. If I had to guess it would be something which would include her friend Leslie from bare minerals. That is just my guess and really none of my business.
