Re: Lisa answers 2 big questions…..

MIXED SIGNALS--AGREE She wants to tell it so bad that it is to the point someone needs to stop her from posting. IF IT'S THAT IMPORTANT.

Give her a few weeks and we will know.

Oh, good grief. She didn't address anything. Anyone can see that. She didn't say anything at all, which is exactly how the situation should be handled. She knows what her next step will be but but NOW while she is still a QVC employee is NOT the time to disclose or discuss anything about her future. As for the GILI line, well big duhhhhhh to that. LR said a million times that she does not own the GILI. It's QVC line and even if QVC wanted to discontinue it, they could not. There millions of dollars of product and factory oders in the pipeline. Plus, it's a successful line. So, it will be continued at least for a while. People leave jobs all the time, it's not exactly uncommon. I love LR and I look forward to seeing what she does next and I'm willing to wait to see how it unfolds. I think a lot of professional women can relate to working hard, becoming a huge success, reaping the financial rewards of that success but doing so at the expense of everything else. Your work consumes you. I had a job like that once, I loved that job. I was making boodles of money, the work was important, I was respected in the industry but between the job and my family; I was sleeping 5 hours of night if I was lucky and I never had even a moment for myself. I was younger than LR and it dawned on me that I needed a change....I remember the exact moment. We were on vacation in Hawaii, my husband and the girls and my mom. I was sitting on that gorgeous beach in that heavenly weather in a chaise lounge.....with a pile of professional manuals.....rewriting a training manual. I'd found a day tour for my family. Not to have fun, I wanted them away so I could work in peace. That was my epiphany moment.

yet you need to remember ..lISA HAS STATED SHE HAS NO HUSBAND,NO CHILDREN,AND NO PET'S I SAY IT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE FROM YOUR POST.

Re: Lisa answers 2 big questions…..

On another thread, a poster made a claim about what Lisa's aide said about GILI and her future in a live chat. Later someone tracked down the conversation that was referenced and found the post was not accurate. The assistant had given a noncommittal answer and NOT said what the other poster claimed she said about the future of Lisa and the GILI line.

I haven't been to her Facebook page in awhile. I still don't fully believe her "response" that was posted on this thread. She may not know for sure which avenue she's going to pursue, but I'd bet more than a dollar she has several opportunities awaiting her.

She's not even 50 years old, and she has no children. She'd be bored out of her mind, imo, without working. Most of her friends work--obviously and I think her family lives out of town.

I think she's deciding between different opportunities that have been presented to her.

I still firmly believe Lisa is leaving on her own. People don't walk away from jobs paying that kind of coin, at that age, without very good reason. I've been in sales for 20 years, and they don't push top sales people out without good reason. Lisa obviously hasn't given them any good reason to push her out. She's professional on air and has a huge, loyal following. I also firmly believe she is their top seller whether one wants to hear that or not.

She may be overwhelmed with the demands of the job and she may not like the direction the Company is going with new leadership, but she's been through plenty of changes on QVC the past 20 years and I would find it highly suspect that would be the reason she's leaving. I think she has something in the works, but she may want to take some time off.

Agree, agree, agree...

I do, though, think the current level of dysfunction at QVC played into the decision and, aside from working on the Gili line, I think she's just plain bored with hosting duties and probably just plain tired of the hours...

It also seems to me that the Q tried to hold onto her. Aside from the frequent vacations, Lisa seems to have been working less hours now for some time... Still, all those late evening and weekends when she really can't, as she says, make plans or have a life, had to take a toll. It seems to me that for very lucrative reasons, Lisa's made the best of a not so great schedule for quite some time and it quite simply is time to cut herself a break. I'm sure she knows she's walking away from a lot, but I guess she just decided it's time...

So true. She has to be tired of pushing that same tired mess on Q .

Ladies it would be professionally unethical for Lisa to post any specific future career plans she may have in the works. To do something like that burns bridges and creates a terrible reputation "inside the industry" for the individual. No reasonably sane person -- unless they are embroiled in some bitter dispute and feeling angry toward their employer-- would do such a thing. One thing it's safe to say about Lisa is that she is none of the aforementioned, but she is an intelligent woman who parlayed a great opportunity at QVC into fame and fortune.

If I were Lisa, I would enjoy the privacy and live it up for a while -- outside of the public watch of the QVC audience -- before starting something new. Unless she truly loves it, I would not even stay in the Philadelphia area. Now, doing some speculation of my own I see living NYC in Lisa's future.

I don't understand how/why it would be unethical after she already gave her 2 week, oops, 2 month notice?? Normally, when people give a 2 week notice, it is obvious they got a new job and there is nothing unethical about announcing it.... Guess it might be different with a 2 month notice....or with a TV shopping channel job....I wouldn't know.....

Why can't she take time and live life. If she really made a million per year she can do that. Geez. Quit speculating.

For those interested and who are not on FB, I know you all like to be in the know like everyone else so wanted to pass along info that Lisa herself answered yesterday... her future whereabouts and GILI.

First off, her next adventure… Quoting Lisa when someone asks what she will be doing… "I am not trying to be difficult, I am just not sure yet. I love what I have done for 20 years, but I love it to the point of not having any moment that isn't it. I want to take a breath, have a life, and believe that there are new adventures waiting for me. But I have to finish this chapter first."

Secondly, the future of GILI when someone asked if QVC will continue with her GILI line. Lisa states, "Hi Sylvia, I do not know officially but I strongly suspect they will continue the line. The clothes for the first 6 months are already designed. The handbags for next year are pretty much done. It has become quite successful so I cannot imagine them stopping it. It will just not be me designing it anymore."

Glad Lisa has addressed her fans biggest questions. Hopefully this will end all the speculation. Sounds to me like Lisa really doesn't have a solid platform as of right now of where she'll end up but is looking to explore what comes her way. It also concludes she will not be coming back to Q as the GILI vendor. It does leave me wondering once this new stock of GILI expires that had Lisa's eye behind it, what the new designs will look like down the road. Hopefully it will remain edgy and fashion forward because I think Q desperately needs that type of look incorporated into their fashions.

Also her decision to leave doesn't sound to me like it was solely LR's especially when I specifically remember back in September she was giddy and excited talking about the return of her LRS show coming back in February for its new season.

YOUR SAYING LISA was excited in Sept over A date in Feb ...Then her decision was a fast one. Someone got upset.

Re: Lisa answers 2 big questions…..

I've posted this in another thread about GILI.

QVC just a few days ago applied for the trademark G.I.L.I. with the classification of jewelry only under this trademark.

Their last application was GILI (no periods) and the classification of goods was jewelry, handbags, skirts, blouses, denim, etc. Another company opposed that filing and Q abandoned the application.

Based on that application, it would appear if GILI continues, it will be only jewelry. Perhaps they are going to merge the handbags, clothing and other accessories into another line or change the name.
