keep all packing materials, tags, labels etc. until the thirty day return window is nearly up. And don't write an online review until then.
🫤 had to take my long handled grabber to retrieve a box and labels from the garbage can. Luckily it wasn't underneath anything really heinous. Lol. For my new Lodis bag that the zipper pull broke off of today. Received the bag last week. Dang.
So when you read my stellar review about outstanding quality, take it with a grain of salt

Excellent advice!

@smoochy. You don't really need all that stuff to return an item. They'll take it back in any packaging, without tags and you can make your own label if you've destroyed it or didn't get one.
No need to dumpster dive.

I do that for anything I buy. I keep the shipping bags & boxes in the garage. I keep my return labels/invoice in the house. After a month it all goes in the trash.
I generally don't buy anything unless I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep it. Don't want to deal with the hassle.
Sometimes I receive damaged goods so they get that back.
Like Amazon trying to tell me I couldn't get a refund on coffee DH bought. One can had a hole in the lid with a hole in the seal. Yes we want a replacement or a refund. I'm not paying for something we can't use because it was open.

I also keep packing materials for returning things if needed in the garage. If you have space it's best to keep until sure. Easier to return in original packaging. I cut open plastic mailer just in case.

I don't need my packing materials, tags, labels etc. to return something that is defective.
I just need a copy of my invoice & return label which are available online.
If I don't have the original box or packing they are still getting a defective item returned to them.

I agree with those who have said that you don't have to hold on to all that stuff to make a return of a defective product.
Regarding holding off on your review before gushing over a product; that is excellent advice.

@smoochy Right - you can always be the one who gets a lemon!

LOL, my mom used to call herself the Queen of Lemons!
If there was a stack of them, my mom would pick the One that didn't work!
