Re: Ladies, Is This Your Experience?

Yes!  My boss and I were just talking about this the other day.  They are painting a room in their home, and her husband wanted "blue".  Well, as we know, that is only the start of the decision making.

Re: Ladies, Is This Your Experience?

No, not in my experience.

I can't relate re my late DH, father or brothers.  DH hated shopping for clothes - I bought all his clothes.  .  For decorating, he just painted or papered with the color I picked out.  I chose all the carpet and tille when we had the house built.

Father and brothers were the same.  They just didn't seem to care.  I can't ever recall even discussing colors with any of them.

Oh!  I do have one male friend that is kind of OCD re the color of the bricks on the steps leading up to his front door  They MUST be painted a very specific shade of red and it when it was discontinued, he was a real pest until he found the "right" color.   But that was the only "color" incident I can recall.

Absolutely for myself.  It seems only men who are artistic see the entire spectrum of colors.

I see one glaring error on this chart. Most men don't see "violet". Instead they see "purple", especially when you live in MN Vikings territory.☺

@magicmoodz you beat me to it. My DH would also never use the word "violet". It would be purple to him too.

Re: Ladies, Is This Your Experience?

i wish it was that way. dh is a former car painter.

I have to listen to him go on and on about describing

undertones, brillance, glitter, gloss. he can go on and on about what color it is. sigh.

LOL!! My mother was an interior desinger so this is my experience...on steroids!!

Mom used to say my eye was better than carrying color chips, it was so accurate for color subtelties..

My SO, on  the other hand, complimented my new teal outfit last week as, "Wow, that blue looks really good on you!"

So true... unless the man is a "meterosexual." Lol.
