Kim's ruana arrived today:

Belle by Kim Gravel Wrapping All The Way Holiday Ruana Wrap - A624980

Very nice, actually nicer than I expected.  And .... only  $28, no S/H.

Looks nice! But at 5'1" I can't wear it!

@ALRATIBA.  What are you going to do with it?  I figure if I can't answer that question, I don't need it.

Wear it as a wrap over a jacket or coat.   I use a kilt pin at the shoulder.    Kim's was a lot less expensive than if I made it myself!  And, the black and red colors work for me.

I made my first ruana in the late 1970's .... to match a pair of gray wool slacks that I made.

@ALRATIBA.  I'm afraid it's not cold enough here to need a wrap over a coat or jacket.  It sounds pretty but just not practical in my world.

This is a great buy for anyone who wears ruanas or capes. I am petite and this type of clothing "wears me" so it's a no go.

However, I bought the pink and grey one last year when it was a tsv at a much higher price for my dear friend who had to go to a nursing home at only 60 years of age. It was a very sad decision that had to be made and I wanted to cheer her up.

She loves fashion and was thrilled with it. She has worn it when sitting outside in their courtyard in the spring and fall and over her winter coat in the winter. She has even laid it over herself when in bed and has received a lot of nice compliments on it from the staff and visitors.

I highly recommend it if you have a need or want for something like this.

I don't know anyone who owns a ruana. Must be an east coast thing.

I received mine yesterday, and I like it very much.  It seems pretty light and not bulky which are a plus for me.  Although I live in southern Arizona where it is hot for many months, we do have chilly weather in the winter.  Last year, I realized that all of my cooler weather jackets were extremely casual and didn't look that nice when I wear dressier clothes (like blazers and dresses) to church.  I noticed another lady at church wore something like this over her outfits and thought it looked so nice.  Anyway, I hope that all of us who ordered it enjoy it.

I actually own 3 - A black one, a red one, and a leopard-print one...

I wear them in the Fall and Winter - I always run "hot," and they take the place of a jacket or coat.

And yes, I live on the East Coast. Smiley Very Happy
