Hi, I was just curious what anyone thought on these shorts, her recent TSV.
I was excited about the recent TSV, as, they are the one item I've bought from KG ever, and I have three pair of her older ones I love and wear all the time. They are the 8" inch pull ons, but with the stitched/frayed hem. Regulars/size 4, in twill, 2 whites one khaki. Love the fit, comfort, & washed & worn a lot, they've kept their shape. (I had also bought the old style in denim but returned, as they unraveled at the hem and bagged out after one wear, didn't like the denim in those.)
I bought two of the recent TSV. Tried the denim again/dark wash & one pair of Oyster. Since they had petites this time, and I'm 5'1" I opted for petite. I didn't realize petites were 7" vs. 8" on the regulars, when I purchased but didn't mind since I have other Loft shorts I wear around that length.
The KG's this time were unflattering on me...tighter leg, which instead of going straight down kind of tapered in, hugging & cutting in on my thigh, in not a flattering way.
And they made those lines across the back of my thigh, like they were clinging. Returned. I'm fine. Since then I've seen many other cute options online, if I need more shorts.
I checked if it was just the leg opening measurements on both petites vs. regulars...but they were exactly the same, and a little smaller opening than what my old ones were, so no point in exchanging the petites for regulars.
Compared to my LOFT shorts, which are entirely different, button zip, belt loops, more structured....SO much more flattering on me, and were less money. LOFT has some really nice things. I have two pairs of those. Even with the two QVC coupons they'd sent me, both pairs together with S&H and taxes came to $80.
Just wondering what y'all thought who also bought them?
If you care to share any sizing, height, fit details.
I still think she makes a good pull on, nice short (still too expensive but I was willing to pay that if they felt and looked like my originals)...so if they worked for you great!

My opinion probably doesn't help @amyb because I didn't purchase the latest TSV's. I have bought her shorts in the past though and loved them. I didn't buy this time because they were way too long, I prefer a 5". It makes sense that the petites were shorter than the regular, but still too long for me. Petites usually are shorter in the inseam as well as the rise. I find all the other measurements are minimally different, if different at all.
From the presentations I could see they hugged the thigh area. I considered them and maybe just rolling them up but with the way they appeared too snug I did not buy.
Sorry they didn't work out for you. I try to really pay attention to the measurements before ordering.

@cjm61 Hi, thanks for your thoughts.
Yes, I too usually check garment measurements on all items. These I bought quickly before they sold out, but, had I checked measurements I'd likely have still bought them. 7" was fine to me, and as I said the rest of the measurements seemed similar to my old ones, and I thought these would be just like those but more polished with the finished hem.
But not as flattering on me as my old ones, those legs don't hug, grab or feel like elastic skinny jeans/pants, at all, but like a nice twill short, with a straight leg. Not these.
No worries. My thoughts these days...and like my mom always used to say, "you have to love it!" And it has to flatter you or why bother?! These were neither. Anyway, I have plenty of shorts I love and look much better on.
Again, tks for your input~you made a good choice for you on these, judging by what you wanted & didn't want.
Btw, don't know where you like to shop besides Q, but LOFT, Ann Taylor, J Crew, Chicos, all have nice short selections, decent sales, and a variety of lengths, fyi.

I looked but did not buy. I do wear shorts if it gets hot enough here, but then I want some breeze going on. Just me.

Kim G. clothes are not what they used to be. This seems to happen a lot with many lines. Once they become popular, with a large audience, they then cut back on quality, thin out their fabrics, and lastly to top it all off, raise their prices on a lesser product. In general, they lose what made them popular. They think people don't, or won't notice, and in some ways that's true, but many do notice and I am one of them.
My favorite quality designer right now is Aimee Kestenberg. Yes, her prices are up there too, but at least i am getting what I pay for. Very happy with the items i purchased in her line, and looking forward to her next releases.

Today, HSN has DG2 bermudas as the TS, for anyone who might be interested. They're knee length, solid colors no embellishment. I'm tempted by the chambray.

When the TSV shorts were presented, I said on the forums they fit too tight, especially in the legs. I said they looked like the slip shorts panties women wear under dresses.
Why am I not surprised to read that they are indeed tight through the legs? Now, if you have extremely thin legs, they might work, but for most women, they are not flattering.
IMO, if they are tight on the model's legs, they're cut too small.

I received the white and the dark denim. The legs are not tight on me. I like them.
