I always tucked the bottom of my pants into my socks. Worked well. Pants have to be on the skinny leg side obviously or leggings.

I wear leggings with boots.  If I wear a skinny pants, I tuck them into my socks as others have said.

I only wear jeggings or super skinny jeans with tall boots. I'm a stickler for not letting my pants bunch up above the leg opening. They provide a very smooth and lean look.
