I will never buy from these two brands again. Three JR shirts for over 7o bucks and they were hideous. Terrible material, gaudy color and odd fit. Same with SG , two sweaters that cost over 60 dollars and they weren't worth 20 bucks.
What is going on?
The items look great on the screen but when they arrive they're a mess.

I have found both to be very well-made. Are you reading the reviews?

@Cherylou You are so right. I haven’t gotten SG recently but I’ve done quite a lot of Joan and have to admit wasn’t worth it. I love the classic shirts and have many but EVERYTHING has to be ironed and I’m tired. They don’t even iron well.
I probably should have complained but thought it was just me so I appreciate your advice and totally agree.
Even sunglasses and jewelry fall apart. Too bad...

Everyone has their own opinion on different QVC lines. I for one have no clue what SG is selling or actually what clothing most of the Q "designers" are offering any more. I have no need for more clothing than I can wear in a year since I'm not working.
It's all personal choice.

I really believe that since the pandemic, some of the designers have been forced to use other factories and many are sub par. Material is very thin and does wrinkle very easily.

Used to buy JR when really nice items were offered. Not anymore. Everything looks like tunics and big shirts and just not for me. Have never been able to watch SG as she is too annoying and I find her fabrics cheap looking.

IMO Joan Rivers fashions are way over priced. I recently purchased a sweater only because it was on clearance and it's nice but I would not have bought it at the regular price. I have many SG tops but I only buy on clearance or when they are at a reasonable price to me because her prices have gone up and I don't think the fashions are worth spending over $50. JMO

@mspatmac it isn't merely personal choice if garnent quality has declined.

I haven't bought either of these brands in the past couple of years, simply because I don't need any more clothes, to be honest. So I have no idea what the quality is like now.
However, I do have quite a few pieces in both brands that are excellent quality and I get compliments on, whenever I wear them. I'm just glad I bought things "back when" and can still enjoy them.
One review I read on a JR plaid shirt said that the plaids weren't matched at the sides. It might not matter to some people but, for me at the current prices, that would be a deal breaker. I checked out the shirt online and, sure enough, you could see that the plaids weren't matched. For the prices being charged, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect better attention to detail.

This is just my feeling on both..
SG, which I used to buy often for my mom, and actually always fit her well, looked pretty on her (many liquid knit tunic or regular tops of all kinds, printed and solid.) I also own a few SG tops. Only have left a cozy henley type tunic hoodie in whatever her cozy, athletic knit is...still like and wear those with leggings. I haven't bought anything for me of hers in at least 6 years. I don't pay much attention to her shows now that mom passed...but even so...I just feel her line is tired and "same ole" over and over. She's done gangbusters for herself and the Q for decades now...but....nothing new there these days. Can't speak to if the quality has changed as I haven't bought from her lately.
Joan Rivers line. I think it was great they kept DD on and carried on the line, and he's a gentleman, presents well, knows about clothing manufacturing, fabrics and design. I enjoy listening to hosts like that. However, sadly...I think the line's best days are behind it. I used to buy and still own many clothing, jewelry, even makeup items, from the JR line...everything was top notch quality. Fit, fabrics & design in clothing were well done. Makeup seemed like high quality, colors were lovely...nail polish was the bomb! Jewelry...watches were great and fun, and other pieces. I don't do as much costume jewelry anymore, but I don't see them doing anything great or unusual. I think they've limited their investment in the line, and can only focus now on a few basics...nothing artistic or unusual.
The line's been streamlined, and is rather boring in selections, as compared to before. Also, having been in retail fashion...I can see the corners being cut, sort of dumbed down in the fashion. While I still love what I own of old JR...I have not bought anything new lately. I wish they had the selection like before...I'd love to update my old trench coat, haven't seen them do them that much, and when they did they were a chopped off version, a just below the waist jacket.
