I believe Jane's husband is Irish and I think she is half Irish.

I've also heard her claim Italian heritage, so that would make sense.

A little of Jane can sometimes go a long way, but I think she does a good job with the Irish programming.

For those wishing to see more of it, I suppose the key is to not merely enjoy watching it but to actually buy items presented. Otherwise, they aren't going to run programming for our mere enjoyment. Sad but true.

I enjoyed the shows today. All of the hosts did a nice job. I just wish QVC had scheduled the shows for the complete day. I have no interest in "Gold Gala."

gold gala you say hahahahah you mean gold plated over a resin core pleeeeease girls save your coins this stuff would not be resellable to anyone its dime store junk dont be fooled by the gowns they wear or antonellas cackles

Actually, there was a fair amount of gold jewelry presented, but most of it wasn't new and as always, too much Sleeping Beauty (the mine is STILL closed, by the way) and I think Antonella and Nancy are a somewhat enjoyable pairing. What I could have done without was another hour of Shawn and another hour of beauty featuring, as always, Philosophy. Then again, I can also do without another four hours of David in the kitchen tonight. Had they wanted to schedule more of the Irish vendors in prime time there was certainly a way to do it!

I think Jane is always enthusiastic. We have different personalities- so we wouldn't be each other's "cup of tea." That said, she does her job well.

Jane's enthusiasm seems to be genuine. However, as for some of the other hosts, not so much!

Re: Jane's Enthusiasm for Ireland and Its Products...

I really don't think it should matter about Jane's heritage with regard to her performance in the job of hosting shows for products made in Ireland. I truly believe that these shows have long been favorites of hers to work, but for sure she plays up the heritage angle. I for one think that is an unnecessary sales tactic. One can appreciate Ireland and the craftsmanship of the products presented without having any family links to the Emerald Isle.

With that off my chest, add me to the list of Q viewers/customers who enjoy Jane as a host for the Irish merchandise programs. I should also add that every item I've ever purchased from one of these shows has been of very high quality. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Re: Jane's Enthusiasm for Ireland and Its Products...

I think Jane does a great job and her love of Ireland started at an early age and IMO is sincere. But, I don't care if she was or wasn't sincere. The Irish vendors are the ones selling the products and a host merely presents the items. The vendors were so up, fun and enthusiastic; they have an obvious love of their Country. The Irish shows are always fun to watch and certainly better than gardening, tools, electronics, JR, GILI, Logo etc. I find the products on St Patrick's Day are of a better quality than the usual inventory. Yes, some are the usual resin or clad but, some people may not be able to afford solid gold and genuine stones and I think it is nice that QVC offers affordable options for everyone. Too bad Americans do not have the same love and pride for their Country. Many people suffered through the ages and sought freedom and a better way of life in America. Someone suggested that QVC have a day of American products, sadly, the show would end about 2:00 am. No one is truly American and I am proud of all of my ancestry, including 8% Irish. I love the Irish shows...keep them coming and JRT hosting kickoff and finale. We should celebrate the diversity in America; that's what made this Country great! And not quibble which nationality suffered more or who is better. This great land was built by the early immigrants and their contributions to our culture.

Re: Jane's Enthusiasm for Ireland and Its Products...

I enjoy Jane as a host for the St. Patrick's Day show and for other shows she's involved in such as shoe shopping (I've order three times due to her presentation of Clark's and Vionic.)

And I did make a purchase of a sweater yesterday afternoon online because I was at work (usually take the day off but couldn't this year) and was afraid the one I wanted would "sell out" in my size and color and I believe it did. And I ordered something from the Irish line a few days ago, because I spotted something I liked and I want Q to continue the St. Patrick's day programming. I look forward to it every year since I started buying from the Q in 2009.

At least she knows about the products! I was just watching the St Patrick's celebration that continues on QVC Plus. Courtney just said that the Belleek springtime basket was hand woven. The rep on with her said "no this is not hand woven" but it has a basket design on it and Courtney said "Oh". {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

Courtney constantly makes errors.

I saw that, too, and thought "Good heavens, how could she even think that was hand-woven? It's a solid piece!" Certainly not well-prepared.

I had to stop watching after she asked one vendor when spring started in Ireland. He said March and she said why do I feel like it starts at a different time than here? She then asked if the sweater he was presenting could be worn as a sweater. She asked the Belleek rep if her shoes were inspired by Belleek and she said no. Courtney then said "maybe next year you can come back and sell them and say they were".

LOL. Courtney was out of her element last night. Speaking to the Belleek rep, and commenting on the floral design of the baskets, she said "you know, Spring is just starting here in the U.S." Maybe she thinks Ireland is in the Southern Hemisphere.
