The doctor who was performing a procedure on Joan Rivers when she stopped breathing allowed cameras into her office for a Celine Dion documentary ... performing a vocal cord procedure and joking around with the famous singer.

Dr. Gwen Korovin checked out Celine's strained vocal cords for the singer's 2010 documentary, "Through the Eyes of the World."

The procedure is called a laryngoscopy ... in which the mouth/oral cavity is numbed so the patient can respond to the doctor's commands.

Check out the photos of her famous patients lining the walls ... patients that include Lady Gaga, Hugh Jackman, John Mayer and Brooke Shields.

Korovin was not certified to perform medical services on Joan during her endoscopy. She was reportedly performing a biopsy when Joan stopped breathing and CNN is reported the doctor took a selfie while Joan was under.

Yes she's the one. And allegedly she took the selfie with Joan in the background under sedation. It's all very bad taste even if she just took it of herself without Joan in the background it's still unprofessional and classless. This woman needs not to be practicing medicine. From her pictures posing with celebrity autographs behind her I don't think IMHO her mind was is the right place. It seemed to be she was more focused on her clientele than her profession.

I think people are really angry that this dr may have killed Joan. I wonder why she does not take insurance - this sounds very fishy. She sounds like she is out for the almighty dollar. I would never go to a dr that does not take insurance. Maybe her procedures are questionable and would not be approved by health insurance. Joan had so much going for her. There is an article that she wrote an intro for a cookbook. Very interesting. So much talent and gone much too soon. It is hard to believe I will never see her again.

Yep your right. Had this doctor not done that Joan would still be here and I think it has many people even more upset by all of this. The more that comes out on this the worse it gets. CNN did say this is still an ongoing investigation and if what is being said this doctor is going to be in serious trouble. Joan went into that clinic a woman in great health and she should have come out the same and she didn't. So somebody did something they weren't supposed to do!
