Some musings over a particular advertising gimmick: "It will last forever!"
Having just been through lung cancer surgery (and looking ahead at chemo), I have to smile (what else can I do?) at such ploys. I am reminded of a song from GiGi that goes "and even if love comes through the door, the kind that goes on forevermore, forevermore is shorter than before..."
Just have to see the humor sometimes.

I wish you luck with your health!
It's too bad we can't have THAT forever.![]()
The things that people buy thinking they'll have them forever...well, personally I get bored with things and like to change them up. That's why I've never spent a lot of money on that one thing they tell you: "It will last forever!".

@Zita - Sorry to hear you're having to go through that and am sending prayers that you will have a complete, successful recovery. I hope you also have a support system around you.
I agree with your thoughts about the "it will last forever" ploy. Depends on your definition of "forever", doesn't it? Will it be like a Twinkie and survive a nuclear explosion? And if the item doesn't last "forever" (how would we know), can we sue for our money back? ![]()
ETA: Just made me think..."It will last forever"......but you only have 30 days to decide whether to send it back or not!
